We have always wanted to try this place but the queue was always quite long. The restaurant was at least 1/3 filled with koreans when we were there, which must mean that the food is rather authentic! Definitely worth the try. He had the marinated pork chop, and I had the soybean paste tofu stew with beef. The side dishes were yummy too. #koreanfood #kimbap #doenjangjjigae #sgeatout #sgeats #sgfoodie #instafood_sg #burpple #sgigfoodies
$7.50, quite well worth the price just look at the amount of ingredients in it. Ingredients were fresh, and the soup was so flavourful without being overly salty like the ones I had in Korea. Pretty sure it's adapted for local but I'm not complaining. Relatively cheaper eats in town.
My to go for cravings for Korean food, although they increased their price not long ago, I still patronise them for the reasonably priced and good Korean food. I tried the $9.9++ set lunch at JuShinJung, and I got to say, KimDaeMun does it better. Their kimchi soup is DAEBAK ππ
With 24 variations of sundubu (traditional Korean stew with tofu, egg, seafood and spring onion), the first Tokyo Sundubu outlet from Japan is the place to go with your female lunch kakis, especially on a rainy afternoon. Choose from three different soup bases and four levels of spiciness before selecting the type of stew β options include tomato sundubu and miso sundubu. While many places pre-slice the tofu, the slabs here are left intact, so you can mash it to your desired consistency. Try the Health & Beauty Sundubu ($18), served with chicken, lady's fingers and a scoop of collagen for a midday complexion boost!
Avg price: $20 per person
Finely shaved ice topped with purple sweet potato mash, sweetened red beans, crunchy almond flakes, chewy red bean chapssaltteok (Korean mochi), a scoop of vanilla ice cream & 3 slices of dehydrated red dates. Liberally drizzled with sweetened condensed milk. An icy treat on a hot, sunny day.
Bingsu was more Ice Kachang-ish here; the ice was shaved more coarse than being snow-like, plus the Sweet Potato did not really taste of anything much apart from its colour; probably doused in too much milk. Vanilla ice-cream was smooth, and the sugared nuts were pretty interesting.
For its price, we were surprised by the generosity of the ingredients β a full scoop of ice cream, a glob of red bean on the side, some crunchy almond slices, sliced red dates, and as you dig in furtherβ¦. Sweet sticky Korean chapssaltteok (rice cake). http://danielfooddiary.com/2015/02/02/cafeinsadong
It's a super hot hot day today. Anyone up for an artisanal injeolmi bingsu at @chickandken? ππ #sgeats #bingsu #chickandken #sgfoodlovers
Authentic korean food. They made their pancake much thicker than normal but it's nice and chewy with crispy crust! The army stew is quite tasty too! Love that they put in many different kinds of mushrooms. Another dish worth mentioning is their stir fried rice cake! Their BBQ meats lack luster, so just stick to the other mains!
Jajangmyeon is the Korean version of Chinese ZhaJiang Noodles ηΈι¬ιΊ΅. Chunky, savory black bean sauce noodles with diced meat and vegetables was simple, and not that interesting to me, actually won over my heart. The sauce was savoury-sweet and full-flavoured after mixing well with the noodles, it become my comfort food at its best.
