The wanton is super fresh and juicy. The sauce is awesome! The price is good!! The xiao long pao was super nice as well!! Comparable to jade restaurants one, but much cheaper!! Excellent experience

Best way to end my first day at work omg thinking in terms of wanton mee (instead of the Singapore ramen that they brand themselves to be), this is pretty awesome. The charsiew took me by surprise - so tasty and tender; and you could actually taste the prawns in the wanton. Crispy potato-wrapped prawn were alright. The onsen egg yolk disappeared when I wanted to eat it though. Noodles were not as springy as I'd have liked but I don't really mind. Soup was not bad too! (Don't eat spicy stuff but the chili was goooood. But probably not spicy enough for others) Could be because I'm hungry, but I felt a little sad when I finished it. Not exactly cheap at $5.50 but ok la I'll be back at dinner time where there's no queue 😁

You will be hard pressed to find another restaurant that blends their own gorgeous pesto in the morning, and adorns their pasta generously with pine nuts - what more a little corner stall in a coffee shop. To me, this place has always embodied the essence of cooking with love, and is why I always leave so, so happy and satisfied after a meal here. This fragrant plate was both generous in its handmade basil pesto and the amount of mushrooms, ensuring you had enough of everything in each bite. It's always fun to come here and see what's on the menu for the day, and I reckon you should too.

At Ten-Ichi Udon, you can personalise your bowl of udon by selecting your own noodles, toppings and tempura. Have the original, matcha or yuzu udon in hot soup or cold soba-style, and top it off with crispy tempura. Not feeling creative? Choose from their specialties and all-time favourites like their Black Sesame Smoked Duck Udon ($5.80), or their chilled Yuzu Wasabi Udon ($6.50) for a refreshing meal. Tip: add an onsen egg for $1, it'll make your udon much better. Also get a Crab Cream Croquette ($2.80) on the side — its crisp crunch and molten insides make it irresistible.

This spacious rooftop cafe situated on the 11th floor of Pico Creative Centre in Kallang not only has great panoramic views, but also serves tasty Peranakan food at a steal. Definitely go for their fantastic Nyonya Assam Pedas Fish ($6.50) — a generous portion of fresh fish lying in an addictive gravy that goes so perfectly with rice, and their incredibly flavourful Sambal Prawns with Petai ($6.50). They serve a variety of western dishes, brunch fare, coffee and cakes as well, but it's worthwhile to just focus on satisfying your Peranakan cravings here. A great place for cheap and tasty food, you'll be asking for more gravy please, and an extra plate of rice. What's more, no service charge or GST! Note that they are closed on weekends.

Should anyone who is dining at &SONS, this is definitely a must have dish on the table. Al dente pasta with the right amount of crab, nduja and sauce. Did I mention the price ? $10 !

Salted Egg Pork Ribs Rice. The salted egg sauce is of a great balance between salty fragrance and spicy kick. The pork ribs could have been crispier though. Still, good and cheap meal!

Let's just say that Joe's has become the Burpple team's absolute favourite Thai restaurant. This humble little Thai kitchen opened by Joe and Jamie in 2006 boasts super flavorful Tom Yum soup that has just the right amount of spice and tang, and big portions of juicy, fragrant pandan chicken for extremely reasonable prices. Spot the Burpple sticker on their front door!
