Still remembered making the visit to Momolato back then when they were still a kiosk at Singapore Management University (they operated from the space that is now run by Hong Seng Curry Rice) — they had subsequently went into online operations, but had recently moved into a brand new space within a shophouse at Haji Lane.

While Momolato was still a relatively simple gelato parlour back then, they had since grown their business and is now halal-friendly whilst also offering keto-friendly gelato — a relatively fresh concept even to this day; patrons at their physical shop space will also be glad to know that they do serve up waffles, croffles (with flavours such as Banana, or Gula Melaka even), as well as popsicles and seasonal plated desserts apart from the scoops of gelato in either cups or cones.

The Pandan Waffle is relatively decent; does come with a slight hint of Pandan fragrance with its batter coming with a green hue in the interior, but the waffle does come off a little dry and clumpy somewhat. Thankfully, each order of the waffle comes with Vanilla Chantilly Cream and a house-made sauce by the side (seemingly a mix of condensed milk(?) and Gula Melaka(?)) — the latter of which being pretty unique with its mellow, yet rich sweetness — paired up with the waffles and even the Banana Croffles perfectly. The Pure Coconut Gelato, also a flavour which is keto-friendly, was pretty smooth, creamy and hints of a whiff of the fruit — not particularly sweet considering the keto-friendly flavours at Momolato are sweetened with natural sweeteners, and almost akin to having the flesh of the fruit itself.

Whilst being a relatively simple establishment in the past, Momolato has since grown over the years during the period where they have ceased physical retail operations — and they are back being more than what they were. Dine-in space at Momolato is rather limited; mostly within the confines of the space in front of the counter that comes with two tables are meant for 4 pax each, and counter seating by the wall though there are also three al-fresco seats at the street itself — do expect a short waiting time for seats here.

This was the jiggliest warabi mochi I’ve ever had😂 but what stood out for me was that GIGANTIC ball of red bean! It’s chunky & slightly sweetened, complementing the cup’s other smoother components.

Even though I would have preferred more bitterness, this still satisfied my matcha cravings 🍵

Have been visiting Yatkayan Dessert pretty regularly these days but it’s always been a pleasure to be having their desserts — from their traditional pastes to the ever popular Orh Nee and the simplistic Egg Pudding which is so-ever refined, every visit has been either finding a new favourite, to having something familiar that I love.

Pleasantly surprised that they had recently introduced the Yammy Chendol — a combination of their stellar Yam Paste and Chendol all in one package; that sort of item that would certainly catch my attention. One would think that the two would make up a pretty odd combination, but I like how that earthy yam paste still carries ample flavour with an evident hint of scallion oil amidst the Chendol to switch things up a little — gives the Chendol a slight richness and thickness in terms of texture, while the shaved ice comes drenched in coconut milk that’s pretty decadent; all that with the Pandan jelly that provides for a slight hint of fragrance, red beans for a bit of earthiness and sticky, gooey Gula Melaka for just the right degree of sweetness.

Must say that this may come across as pricey to some at $5.50, but the Yammy Chendol comes at a pretty substantial portion — works great to share, or if one had a rather light lunch. Still, this is probably the best of both worlds one can get — something which definitely works well enough for me!

Known for its ice cream and waffles, this Burpple Hot 100 favourite is completely deserving of its place in our list. Their freshly churned ice cream is consistently good, and we like how they often introduce seasonal flavours to keep things fresh. They have several knockout flavours on their regular menu, with Roasted Pistachio ($4.50) and Earl Grey Lavender ($3.50) topping the list of the Burpple community's favourites. Ice cream here starts from $3.50 a scoop, with premium flavours going at $4.50 a scoop. If it's available, don't hesitate to have a scoop of the Peanut Butter and Jelly ($4.50), which hits the perfect balance of sweet and savoury. Consider getting their fluffy Waffle ($9 with a scoop of ice cream), which soaks up the ice cream perfectly while remaining crisp around the edges. Pro tip: They are opening a new outlet in Tiong Bahru in the fourth quarter of the year — we can't wait!

From the same pastry chef behind Flor Patisserie comes this humble Japanese-French pastry shop that sells elegant treats to-go in Tanjong Pagar Plaza. Be sure to try the Mille Feuille ($6.80) where layers of puff pastry, fresh cream and raspberry jam are topped with fresh strawberries. For a unique creation, the Luna Wrap ($6) sees lightly whipped flavoured cream (mango, chocolate or blueberry) cradled in a pancake.

This Premium Pancakes is the dish to order if you can only have one item at Gram Pancakes in VivoCity!

You get a towering stack of three 4cm thick fluffy souffle pancakes, served along with housemade whipped cream and gram’s original butter.

Just a stone’s throw away from Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station, @leclairpatisserie is Singapore’s first éclair specialty café, offering up to 10 unique flavours of pretty éclairs daily.

From left to right: Ispahan, Vanilla & Caramelised Pecans, White Chocolate Cranberry, Blood Orange Chocolate. The last two are seasonal flavours for Xmas!

With a nice contrast of textures, the Tahitian Vanilla & Pecans Éclair is my top favourite 😋. Please get this if you’re here!

From my previous review: "We prefer this to the Twilight Cake. In terms of both texture and taste, there's a lot going on in the mouth with the fluff green sponge cake, crispy dark chocolate soil, and creamy fresh mint custard and apple compote - so be sure to mix all of them and eat them together. While it may be a tad dry, the rum shot helps moisten it and added complexity in its taste".

Supreme Combo - Crisp waffle squares sandwich a layer of strawberries and cream, and it came topped with a scoop of sea salt caramel with pistachio.
