Canele
If you are looking for some canele in KL do try Burrow in BSC. Their coffees are pretty good too! The cafe is quite small so come early if you want to get a table. My personal favorite is the Lucky Marmalade Canele!

Checked out Dew in Bangsar twice and I’ve grown to like the place more each time. Dew is the sister cafe to neighbour Jaslyn Cakes and shares its space with a florist.
When I want desserts and not feeling too hungry, I’ll have something light and refreshing. The idea of having a citrus-based dessert comes into mind.
I had the Basil Lime Tart which is one of the more popular items here. Essentially it’s basil and lime curd in a crusty, buttery tart shell topped with basil mousse, meringue sticks and edible flowers.
Although there are mixed reviews about this particular dessert, I personally like it to the extent that I had it twice. The lime and basil curd brought out a zesty, tangy, fruity flavour and marks a refreshing change from the ubiquitous lemon curd used in tarte au citron. I’d say the basil mousse is like marmite (you either like it or you don’t). Biting into the mousse unleashes bursts of herbal basil flavour. It feels like you’re eating basil leaves.
I did try the other desserts as well and will share my thoughts in separate posts.

Open-faced sandwich with huge peppery steak. So-so and don't worth the price at all. Skip it. They are using sourdough but it's too wet to taste any sourness.
The jam undercuts any overpowering richness that may exist in the cake. It's also pretty unconventional (not that I'm complaining, I love it) that they use blueberry and raspberry instead of the traditional strawberry jam for their Victoria Sponge. A first for me to see mascarpone being incorporated in the cream as well, and I'm all for it!
💬 Extras from my day: The cake was so good I decided to get another to-go for my mom. Just as I was about to pay though, the lady at the counter dropped the box with my cake. Long story short I almost got charged for the damaged cake but in the end I got it for free. Still paid for another sticky date pudding because I felt bad 😅
Def my to-go spot for comforting bakes 🍰 Only wish it were nearer (to be fair, everywhere is far away from where I stay)

If you had to pick a no-fail, crowd-pleasing place for dessert, this would be it. The community heartily agrees, especially Burppler Mark Johnson, who says, "I've eaten a lot of pastries in my time, and across the world, yet Jaslyn's is still one of the best". Once you enter, you'll be greeted with a stunning line of cakes, brownies, cookies and more. Top picks include the gooey Salty Valrhona Brownie (RM12) that comes sprinked generously with sea salt, as well as the moist Lemon Drizzle Loaf (RM9). For something lighter, the fluffy Earl Grey Chiffon Cake (RM7.90) will satisfy. From the chiller, get your hands on the Lemon Cream Tart (RM14), which Burppler Cassie Ong praises for the strong citrus flavour. Ps. You can also find Jaslyn Cakes in Mont Kiara!
