Is it bad to say that im a frequent customer of Obba Jjajang?😲 HAHA ordered jjajang myeon x2 with tangsuyuk (first time trying) and they have a set discount for this😇 Enjoyed the filling portions and delicious food as always!! The tansuyuk however is more chewy than i thought (less meat filling more flour)😅 Some people may prefer it this way but I like mine crispy🤭 Overall tastes good too so ratings are 9/10 as always!!😇

Finally the tried the famed jjajangmyeon from Obba Jjajang. Took me a while but I am always repulsed by huge crowds and long waiting times, so I managed to snag a seat by heading there early. Now I know what the hype is over a simple looking bowl of noodles. The flavourful black bean sauce comprised of onions and diced pork. While I was hoping for slightly more meat in the sauce, the onions and other vegetables in the sauce helped to give a good crunch to the noodles. The noodles were chewy and pliant, while the sauce was tangy and on the sweeter side. I aboslutely loved the noodles, and personally thought it was what made the dish so fantastic. While I personally do not like sweet sauces, I thought this was generally quite well-balanced (other than at the end when the black sauce sweetness started to overwhelm). I would definitely come back here to have this again — but I would probably try the spicy flavoured jjajangmyeon just to see if the sweetness is less apparent!

Fried chicken was crispy outside even coated in sweet and spicy-but-not-overly-spicy sauce (although they put a 🌶 in the menu). Portion was big and good to share amongst 4 pax. Tasty but prob wouldn’t get it again at $38.

JJM was saucy, flavourful and not too salty. Noods was soft and chewy. One bowl was perfect for 2 to share as jjm can get gelat.

Will be back for their jjm.

This was chock full of scallions, and had a rather decent amount of squid in it too. The sides are crisp! A rather thicc pancake but felt a bit floury in the middle especially when it was no longer hot. The aircon here is rather strong so the food cooled v quickly. It’s a decent pancake but I don’t think I’ll reorder.

Was surprised at how nice this was! Always heard people raving about it so I had to try it for myself. The sauce had this smoky flavour, and was savoury but not too salty. There’s a lot of onions and minced meat too. I thought the noodles were fine, rather chewy but I think mukjja’s noodles + obba’s sauce would be the best combi
