Saw many reviews for the pork chop so I went with that, while my friend got the braised beef cheeks. To be honest, I felt that both dishes were nothing to shout about. The curly fries on the side was good though! Would consider returning with 1 for 1.

We ordered this on a recommendation by the waitress and no regrets for sure. So tender and well marinated, and it wasn't gamey at all! Would have this again in a heartbeat!

Maybe it was an off-day for the kitchen, but the crabmeat pasta was a plate of soft, watery, bland mush ): It felt like I was eating baby food, with the exception of the generous chunks of crabmeat. I think the crabmeat was the only saving grace, but this definitely wasn’t the best out there. It was a deeply dissatisfying experience after an entire day of anticipation.

My friend’s kurobuta pork on the other hand - delicious, savoury, melt-in-your-mouth fats that I would happily shell out full price for.

Rookery doesn’t strike you as a brunch place, but they do a mean Big Breakfast ($23++)! It would have been better with some greens, but I loved the variety on the plate. The sausage surprised me with its juicy savouriness, distinctly unlike most. The sourdough was a huuuge win for me, perfectly crispy at the edges while retaining its crispiness!

Imagine finishing a meal that leaves you with withdrawal syndrome that you decide to return for another round, within a week. This plate of crabmeat pasta at rookery is capable of that (and I really went back) A tasty plate of pasta filled with a generous amount of crabmeat is definitely worth a visit, or even a revisit! The pork cheek pasta was equally good, the pasta sauce was slightly citrusy that would definitely whet your appetite.

The only downside imo, is that this place is a little dark and echoey so it may be not be the most ideal place for having long chats.

Their signature bone in pork chop was amazing, changed the salad to mash potato which made it even tastier.
Their signature norwegian trout was disappointing though. It became jelat after eating half the dish and actually tasted like salmon.
The next day, my dad had diarrhoea and vomited from eating it too...
Loved their signature scallop as it was cooked in seaweed and miso butter. Wonderful combination.
Will be back but not for their fish.
