Note this one down for when pay day has yet to arrive but you still wish to give yourself that well-earned omakase treat! There is a 15-course menu at only $38, but most Burpplers go for the 18-course menu at $68 ($98, with uni). While the menu is seasonal, look out for the chūtoro, an indulgent slice of medium fatty tuna topped with a yummy shoyu foam. Nothing this good comes easy, so Burppler Kenneth Lee recommends making a reservation well in advance to score seats!

You know how often I come here :) It's where I go for good and affordable sushi, and I've been here no less than 20 times? There's even a $68 option if you don't need uni, but I find the $98 version very worth it because Chef Roy serves good Japanese uni as well.

This finale bowl is only available in the $98 sushi omakase. Bafun uni is first mashed and mixed with the rice so that every grain is coated with uni, then topped with more uni and ikura. In this bowl here, I was given sea grapes as well, though this green caviar isn't always available.

The only problem with this place is that it's incredibly difficult to get a seat, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.

We got the $98 Omakase experience for lunch, which was 18 delightful courses of appetisers, nigiri sushi (including chutoro, otoro, and Uni specials) and a mini Uni rice bowl. What stole the show for me personally was the crab hand roll though. The interplay of hot rice, with cold crab was brilliant!

When people think of an omakase (leave it to the chef ) sushi experience, many may feel that it's very pricey or it won't be a filling meal. However, when it comes to Ryo sushi, it is just the opposite.

Having eaten there many times, I can confidently say that it is one of the most value for money satisfying sushi omakase restaurants in Singapore. With an experienced sushi chef/owner leading the way and the majority of their ingredients sourced from Japan, Ryo sushi boast only the highest quality sushi which is guaranteed to leave everyone thoroughly satisfied. Ryo sushi offers 3 different sets. A $38 15 course set during lunch, a $68 18 course toro(fatty tuna) set and lastly a $98 18 course uni(sea urchin) set.

If you're looking to make reservations, be sure to make them at least 2 weeks in advance as its insanely popular and there are only 9 counter seats in this restaurant. Swipe right for my highlights.

Finally! Tried ryo sushi which was on my wish list for the longest time. The fish was fresh and good, I savoured every piece of nigiri and the crabmeat handroll was really delectable (not in the pic).

My only complaint is the reservation process.
1) It’s hard to get someone to pick up the phone
2) The guy was unhappy when I told them i had to change from 3 ppl to 2 ppl for my reservation as sth else cropped up. Only managed to resolved it after I mentioned that i’m getting the $98 omakase set.

Great experience if you are 100% sure nothing happens and u will be able to make it for your reservation.
