At only $20

It's cheaper then the fish head at the coffee shop next to my home.

And it taste great too.

The curry was plentiful, cant even see the fishhead.

👍👍

For zi char sans pork and lard, count on Segar’s variety of tasty dishes. The menu isn’t extensive, but there’s still something for everyone — tangy Claypot Tom Yum Mee Soup ($6) for solo diners, the sweet, crispy Segar Claypot Golden Chicken ($10.80) for two, and the Signature Curry Fish Head ($20) for the whole gang.

I asked which was better, the Assam or curry fish head. Reply was that if I wanted to sweat, I shd choose the curry fish head. And indeed, this was really spicy and warmed me right up. Curry was wonderfully thick and full of flavors. I drowned my rice with curry cos it was so good! Fish meat was tender. Good amount of vege. At this price, I would definitely come again!

This Grandma salted egg sotong was really delicious. But it was a tad too oily so best to share. Salted egg sauce was grainy and so rich. Eating this with rice was the best!

Sambal kangkong, bitter gourd omelette and bean sprout with salted fish. Very simple dishes just like mom's cooking.

This dish looked great and the smell was divine. The sauce was savory and fragrant. It would be fabulous if the chicken used was boneless thigh but it was breast meat with bones. I even bit down on a small pc of bone. That definitely put me off this dish forever. Such a pity, cos I really liked the sauce.

This is what you need to order if you're going in with a group! Packed with loads of veggies like eggplants, lady fingers and much more, that alone was satisfying. Add on the meaty fish head and you've got an epic meal on your hands. 🙌

Good food at very affordable price. Curry fish head and deep fried small squid were my favorite dishes. To make things better their service was tip top.

For knockout Halal zi char fare in the heart of Chinatown, head to Segar Restaurant, where the Halal certified kitchen turns out an array of super flavourful plates — it's great for family and group gatherings. Expect the usual suspects like Curry Fish Head ($20), Sambal Kang Kong ($8) and Salted Egg Prawns ($14), along with a few Thai-inspired additions like Tom Yum Seafood Soup ($10.80) and Pandan Leaf Chicken ($10.80). For Burppler Dex Neo, his must-order is without a doubt the Segar Claypot Golden Chicken ($10.80), a claypot of chicken tossed in a sauce that he describes as fragrant and slightly sweet. If you're watching the pocket strings, consider the 2 Person Set Meal ($26.80), which gives you a choice each of main, a side dish and vegetables. Alternatively, they also have a decent and affordable selection of one dish meals including Claypot Tom Yum Mee Soup ($6) and Thai Fried Rice ($6).
Avg Price: $15 per person

Who woulda thought that this Halal zi char place would have such awesome dishes! My favourite of the night was this little claypot of crispy chicken tossed in a wonderfully fragrant and slightly sweet sauce that is a must order when you're at here. 😛

It's lovely dish. Acceptable price range for 2.

The Claypot Golden Chicken is quite flavourful. It tastes pretty good but the chicken pieces are kinda small.
7/10

The tomyum is not spicy at the same time it gives off the sweet taste taste of Tom yum.

6.5/10 for the soup

A random pick again, we chose to have this set meal before we have a walk at Chinatown street. The food is not marvelous yet acceptable. It's a reasonable price of dinner if you wanted to have affordable dinner for two persons or another set meal 4-6 persons. Overall rating is just 2/5

Segar restaurant is a Chinese-Thai cuisine but a halal version. They had a promotion for 2 pax & cost us less than $40 (incl. GST & Service charge) It comes with drinks, vegetables, chicken, seafood, & 2 plates of rice. (There a choices for you to choose for the side dishes).

SGD 6 - SGD 6 - Despite the limited choices of halal food at Chinatown. We have found Segar Restaurant ! It's our very first time visiting this restaurant and it's crowded with people on this PH. It tastes pretty good ! Tom Yum has always been my favourite ! So don't miss out !

Glad to have all my cravings left hanging from the one at Bangkok Gem settled with this one. Despite being served chilled, the Tapioca was comparatively softer and soaked with thick coconut goodness. A great way to end the meal on a sweet note!
