Foodies may know this Japanese-fusion hot spot in Sri Petaling for their killer ramen, but also good are the rice bowls. First-timers, go for the Lucky Salted Fish Pork Patty bowl (RM23.80) featuring a thick slab of pork patty with distinct salted fish flavours, accompanied by fried egg drizzed with soy sauce. Another tasty option is the Lucky Smoked Duck bowl (RM23.80) with juicy and melt-in-your-mouth meat drizzled with sweet garlic aioli. Wrap your meal up with a glass of refreshing cocktail, such as the Ju Hua Tai (RM21.80), a sake-based concoction of chrysanthemum and lemon juice.

Phew this was a heavy one. Another walk down the memory lane with this bowl. Thick pork patty with a good balance of flavours.
Tried to figure out how to consume the seaweed in a civil manner and ended up wrapping the leftover yolk-coated rice with it.

Japanese-Chinese fusion rice bowl, I would say.
Runny fried egg with a dash of soy sauce, smoked duck, and garlic aioli over warm rice.
Simple but delicious combination.
Had some nostalgic flavours in the rice, reminds me of the good ol’ times back in my kampung!

Ordered this sweet concoction to sip on while we wait for our meal. Tasted like canned coconut water and watermelon syrup..?
A little too sweet for me and tasted artificial :(

For your next adventurous foodie night out, look to this trendy spot for twists on traditional ramen, cocktails and more. Helmed by the folks of now-defunct Ru Di Fook, you can trust these noodle experts will dish up something good. Burppler Carmen Chan comes for the King Of Pork Chop Ramen (RM29.80) brimming with chewy noodles, savoury tonkotsu broth and a massive, tender tomahawk that she recommends sharing with a friend. Burppler Joey likes to pair this ramen with a side of addictive KungFu Mushroom (RM14.80). Wash the meal down with one of their house cocktails, like the creamy and chocolatey Keep Calm (RM26.80) with dark rum.

The traditional definition of ramen takes a twist in Super Ramen. There’s a variety of different noodle/rice bowls in their menu and some with influences from local delicacies like laksa. The Pork Broth Ramen with tomahawk (RM29) is what I came here for. The tomahawk is very surprisingly tender, the meat wasn’t tough at all. But it was heavily seasoned with Cajun seasoning which didn’t blend well with the Japanese tonkatsu ramen. The tomahawk was huge though, so you might want to share that with a friend. The ramen itself was decent, but didn’t stand out to me. The yuzu and passion fruit (RM13) drink was refreshing.
