is chewyyy and the sauce wasn’t too sweet but i felt that the tteokbokki could have had more bite

Heard about this Korean bbq restaurant where Koreans go to have their bbq cravings and sure enough it's authentic and really good!

We had the dual pork set ($59) which comes with a thick pork belly and marinated pork neck. The pork belly slices were indeed cooked very well, with a beautiful crust and tender juicy meat within. The gamey pork taste isn't very strong as well! The marinated pork neck is surprisingly very tender, with a sweet and savoury marinade.

We added a portion of seasoned King size beef ribs ($41.90) and had no regrets as the beef was so tender and flavourful! Perfect with salt and pepper given on the side.

The set comes with steamed egg, a stew and a variety of side dishes. I must say I really love their kimchi, as it isn't too sour and spicy😋

The side dishes here are great, they have the nice fish cake here! Get the kimchi/seafood pancake and the pork belly! The steam egg here is also da bomb.

Can skip the spicy cold noodles, it’s nice but not mind blowing.

So fingers crossed🤞, let’s hope things will get better and we can start dining in again after June 13🙏.

Featuring one of the few KBBQ joints in 🇸🇬 that uses charcoal grills, @superstark_sg is a no-frills restaurant with round silver-ish tables (alike in 🇰🇷) and simple interior design. With unlimited servings of Korean side dishes (Banchan), do expect your BBQ meats to be perfectly cooked by their friendly waiters/waitresses!

KBBQ isn’t complete without some Black Pork Belly, don’t you agree😉?

I wouldn’t say this place is very affordable, but service is great and food is pretty decent! The waitress helped us cook our meats and while she burnt our last meat dish a bit, we still appreciated them helping us cook our meat and topping up our banchan timely. The chicken feet was surprisingly good, but devilishly spicy. Love the potato salad and kimchi too! One down side here is that the army stew was quite salty.

Good food, good service, good company!

Let me know which Korean BBQ restaurant in Tanjong Pagar stands out the most for you 😋?

Stumbled along this place and was glad we took the leap of faith. Despite the long waiting time and small restaurant size, was not disappointed by the BBQ meat and the sides as well. For each order of meat entitles you to a free serving of steam egg.
Ordered King sized beef ribs ($35). Meat was soft and tender. Seasoning was nice but koreans do like their seasoning to be slightly sweet.
The salted pork neck meat ($18) was tasty but nothing to rave about. Was satisfied that it doesn’t have a very strong pork taste.
Seafood pancake ($26) was a pleasant surprise and would encourage customers to order this too!

Overall was very satisfied with the food here and will definitely return for more.

Super sweetish savoury and chewy 😍
Great for a first time try but I don’t think I’ll be back for this again.

A Korean bbq staple. Easy to bring to a nice char without fearing the overburn

It was a hefty proportion of fat to meat. Yay to some, nay to many.

But I like the thick juicy cut of it overall.

In a cross section, there is luncheon meat, deli sausage, pork belly, kimchi, soya sprouts

It was passable, really salty from the amount of preserved meats without all that much other flavour. But such a Korean staple isn’t it. Thank god the noodles were still chewy

Marinated Bulgogi Style. It was thick, chewy, expensive at about $30. And I wondered why they took away the bone part this time 😭

2/10 for taking away my relished chance of gnawing at the bone.
And I honestly don’t find the marbling that great or tasty.

Thick, Creamy, Rich. Melts like butter in your mouth ☺️😍

Complimentary x1 with every 2 orders of meat. It is otherwise $5, served in a hot clay pot. Eat quick or risk it all cooked solid.
And it’s such a warm comforting appetiser to your tummy even if it’s scalding

You know what I’ll recommend here?

Honestly, the steamed eggs, kimchi stew and pancake.

The meats were good not great but if you really want a bbq-something then the pork belly? ☺️

Marinated beef ribs ($28 for 180g) and beef deckle ($29.90 for 180g)

I've had Korean BBQ at Super Star K before and it was quite decent - this was no exception. We ordered the fatty beef deckle (slices of unmarinated meat) as well as the marinated beef ribs. The ribs in particular were super tasty.

This was quite average. The taste of the ramen noodles (and I mean the noodle itself, not the soup) was quite strong mainly because the soup wasn't very flavourful. It was quite thin and not very stew-like. I did, however, appreciate the generous pieces of luncheon meat and sausage - there was a lot of it.

I suppose my search for the perfect budae jigae continues.

Went to tanjong pagar to explore the different korean restaurants but decided to try this restaurant😂The food here is definitely a 8.5/10 as the quality of the meat and all is great!!💯
However its a little pricey with a min of 2 meats to grill. Bought the super spicy chicken and the pork collar meat worth $29.90 each whereas other meats such as the spicy beef is worth $30 per serving. However, the 2 meats comes with a free bucket of lettuce(actually $5) and steamed egg($5 too)!!☺️
The set is definitely filling for 2 people and it is nice to try the food there if u have around $25 or more to spare☺️👍🏻

This is the best Korean Bbq I had. Though it can be quite pricey for a plate of marinated bulgogi pork belly ($19++) but the taste made it worth while as service crew would periodically roam around the place to cook meat.

This honey mustard alike taste onion sauce which I haven't seen it in other Korean Bbq shops (visited at least 6 other bbq shops) is a great sauce for pairing with any meat.

Sometimes I really don't understand what is the Korean craze about, but all I know is Korean food in Singapore has evolved to all-time favourite. All thanks to the huge importation of Korean products (e.g. Korean chili sauce, paste etc.) and the fusion of local produce. Pictured here is our dinner set, and we are barbecuing chicken with charcoal! Interestingly, Koreans have designed their tables so well to remove greasy smoke and cool the metal tables with water. We especially enjoyed the steamed egg (something like a fluffy chawanmushi in piping hot stone bowl)!
