Friendly chef, decent food but something wasn’t quite right with the place. Wasn’t terribly impressed cos there were minimal teppanyaki dishes in a teppanyaki restaurant. More of a tourist trap. 3.4/5

One of the best wagyu steak can be found at Teppan by Chef Masayasu Yonemura, who also owns two very successful Michelin-starred restaurants in Kyoto and Tokyo.
🔸
The 6 course menu comes with two appetizers, a fish, this Miyazaki Steak, a Kagoshima wagyu shabu shabu, garlic rice, and a dessert. And for $60++ more, you can go for the 9 course dinner which comes with more appetizers - the Boston lobster matcha appetizer served during TGFF) and Hamaguri clam chowder, and a cold pasta with Japanese octopus served before this steak.
🔸
They serve innovative French-Japanese fare, with a blend of nouvelle Japanese kaiseki with traditional teppanyaki sizzling on an iron griddle.
🔸
And this Miyazaki steak was the highlight of the meal - theatrically and gastronomically. It was A4, and it's the tenderloin cut, yet it was very juicy, and certainly rich in beef flavour. The iron sear and fire certainly retains most of these treasured juices within the steak.

Joining the acclaimed chef line-up for the first time this year at The GREAT Food Festival 2018 is veteran Japanese Chef Masayasu Yonemura of TEPPAN. Besides this dessert, you will also be one of the first in the world to sample his proprietary shabu shabu concept featuring his exciting "Wagyu Sirloin Shabu Shabu" dish.
🔸
TGFF2018 made a comeback this year after a successful run in 2017, and will be held at RWS from 27 to 30 September. Ticket sales have already started.

And carefully set on glutinous rice soaked in dashi stock overnight. The highlight is definitely the secret recipe thousand sauce, it’s unexplainable delicious. A part of me couldn’t finish all the rice as I’m saving some space for the next few courses! 😋

A very good dish. This rendition of a bouillabaisse clearly has Chef Yonemura's Japanese touch as its much lighter than a traditional French one. The broth is still very flavorful and the classic rouille sauce is great. Lobster And oysters are fresh and well cooked. A good dish and one of the highlights of a meal here.
