Enjoy all the healthy food they offer! Especially the brown rice, thai green curry and monkey head mushroom. Glad that I got to know this place before they no longer opened for their meal services.
Fortunately, we still can learn more about Low GI food by attending their educational workshop.
Rating: 4/5
Iβm always a little wary whenever I go to places which talk about how healthy their food is before discussing how tasty it is. Luckily, The Bento People didnβt disappoint at all on flavour! So if youβre looking for food that is as tasty as itβs healthy, this is a good place.
I got three dishes (bulgogi + tofu, black fungus and red rice) for $9.80 and tea for $1.50, but do note that thereβs a very high chance youβll spend more than that. This is as more than half the menu and dishes cost like another $1 or $2 to add, so expect costs to go up.
Money aside, the food is really pretty decent. The black fungus in miso was wonderfully savoury, and the red rice had a nice, nutty texture. The portion sizes are decent, too, leaving you feeling quite happily satisfied. They can get a bit crowded at lunch, but service is usually quick, so no need to worry there.

Been reading the story of a doctor who operate this store out of passion for healthy eating and set out to visit his eatery some time ago. With a bit of hiccups in journey (we were in Boon Keng MRT & so close to Bandemeer MRT but couldn't take MRT so we set our journey by foot). Talking about passion in eating...π

Here is how it works π

Bulgogi Beef with Tofu + Brown Rice + Romaine Lettuce
Another one of my secret spots that I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS dine at, as it's located super near to my dance studio. Selling healthy bentos, The Bento People has a range of ingredients and soup bases for you! The best thing about it is that it's completely DIY so you can choose whatever you want to eat in their menu!! You may have to add $1-$3 for certain ingredients but they do label it in their DIY menu so do look before you order βΊοΈ Also, there's free water for you so do just let the counter person know.
I highly recommend the Chicken & Tofu in Thai Green Curry as well as the Bulgogi Beef with Tofu. Super yummy and healthy, this place is a definite must try!

Previously, I only ever had the food from The Bento People delivered. On my first visit to their dine-in venue in Kallang, I found the space stylish and modern, with presentation of the meals equally pleasing to the eye.
The 3-item set ($9.80) was what I decided on while my lunch partner had the 4-item set ($11.80).
Everything about my combo of chicken marsala, brown rice and Japanese cucumber with tzatziki exuded a clean and healthy vibe, so I was surprised (in a good way) by the spiciness of the marsala gravy. The boneless pieces of chicken breast were also really tender.
When I am feeling guilty from over-indulging but still crave flavour in my food, this is a place that I reckon would fit the bill.
Healthy AND Delishiooouuss ! Fibre, yes. Carbs, yes yes. Yummeh protein? Yes yes yes! π I'm lovin it! $9.80 for this trio combi πππβΊοΈβΊοΈ
Mmm boy, haven't had such a light, clean tasting meal in a while. The Bento People offers simple food without all the hoo haa but they manage to make each component tasty and satisfying. π
In particular, the chicken and tofu in green curry packed a nice spicy kick that I really loved. Will definitely be back on those days when I claim I need to detox π
I really love the food served here. It's all down to good ingredients, simple and light cooking. It's hard to describe, but the flavors gives you a huge sense of satisfaction and thankfulness. Get the chicken quinoa fried quinoa bowl if you're easing into a healthy repertoire. Feels like a refreshing, 2-0 Southampton home win.
Had this for my takeaway lunch today and unfortunately, I had left it sitting around for hours as work had gotten in the way and I couldn't eat till much later. Hence, although it was decent, I'm sure it would have been better if I had dug into it straightaway.
The sous vide salmon could be a little bigger for the price (haha, don't we always wish that? π) but it did taste good and was moist all the way through. I liked that the steamed kale salad was tossed with lots of almond slices and walnuts as well. It did have an odd sourish note which I was personally not fond of but that's just me. The brown rice used here was pale in comparison to the dark reddish-brown kind I usually see at similar healthy food eateries. It was however, flavoured with butter and fresh herbs, and was nicely palatable.
I would like to try other options from this place next time just to see what else they offer.
FINALLY. It sure feels weird eating after 3 days but of course I'm gonna break my juice fast with some sexy yang zhou quinoa fried rice from @thebentopeople!
Seriously, healthy food need not taste eeky at the bento people! You can even enjoy your nasi lemak quinoa edition too! This is the bulgogi beef bowl and I'm looking forward to be back for MORE!
