Only $5.90 for this grilled chicken dish, which comes with two sides of your choice (I chose mushroom rice and mashed potatoes). This is the best ‘budget’ western food I’ve ever tried! Chicken is big and juicy, with a nice chargrilled exterior that makes me want to eat up all that chicken skin 😋. The mushroom rice is composed of more grilled onions than mushrooms, but delicious nonetheless. And so are the mashed potatoes, which are flavoured with the right amount of pepper. To top it off, you can add a big bowl of mushroom soup for $1. I must say the quality of ingredients used far outweighs the price you pay. Ive heard that the queues can go up to 30 min long, and thankfully I barely queued for more than 10 minutes today. Do note that they are closed on Tuesdays.

Amazing and would highly recommend!

Located at an unsuspecting end of pasir ris central hawker centre, lies wild olives where you’ll see snaking queues at any time of the day. Looking at the queue of about 8 people, I quickly joined the queue thinking that it would move quite quickly, however, I was wrong. The stall has a system of taking an order and making that order individually before moving on to take the next person’s order and this inefficient system is why the queue was moving at snail’s pace. Nonetheless, that didn’t faze me, and it took 30 min before I could finally place my order. The preparation of food was pretty fast and we only had to wait around 3 min.

Their grilled chicken was moist and tender unlike the conventional grilled chicken we get from other places that tend to be dryer. I love the signature mushroom rice which was super fragrant and appetising especially with the generous amount of onions that they added. The herb roasted potato wedges were also pretty well seasoned however, it did get a little too ‘jelak’ for my liking after a few wedges. You also get a bowl of pumpkin soup for just additional $1, which is super worth btw!

Overall, I can see why this inconspicuous stall is extremely popular with the crowds. They take conventional western foods and added their own flare to it, which turned out surprisingly well! It’s also super value for money considering the generous portions and quality of food. I would be back again if not for the long queues I have to conquer first!

Best hawker western food with extremely affordable prices. Below $7, you get a main dish with 2 side dishes. Our favorite side dishes are the mushroom rice and herbed potatoes. Add a $1 and you get a soup of the day! Best western food and the long queues are testament to the quality of the food!

Medium steak was good. But the queue to wait is not worth it. About 45-60mins of waiting time on average.

The grilled catfish was slightly crispy at the sides due to the bread crumbs, nice texture. Comes with two side dishes, I’ve chosen mushroom rice and grilled herb potatoes.

I think that sums up this popular stall at a relatively quiet hawker. Everything was generally nice, although it's noteworthy that the vongole had a strong crustecean taste that may not be great for everyone. Mushroom soup tasted like a potato mushroom soup hybrid. Steak was good, and the popular sides were nice as well. Now I understand why the queue is always so long!
