This, to our surprise, came with lots of ingredients! Slices of tender pork collar with vegetables, crinkle-cut potatoes and even sweet potato noodles, all in a slightly thick spicy sour sauce. It was appetising, good for sharing and would go well with rice.

Had one of our CNY meals at Yun Nans and with the huge crowd we saw, they made a smart move to limit the number of dishes available to choose from with their CNY Ala Carte Menu. This crispy hor fun was our table’s unanimous favourite. Its eggy truffle prawn broth comes separated, and the waitress helps to pour it in only upon serving - so you’re sure to enjoy it hot and fresh, with the crispy parts retaining its crunch. The hor fun had a light wok hei, and the savoury sauce was flavourful in its prawn flavour.

We have been having most meals at home because of all the please stay at home don’t go out advice. Yes, the place was not packed like last time, which also means we are seated very far from other diners. They will leave a table or 2 between diners! There is a promo, where their famous ‘nourishing chicken soup with night blooming cereus’ is given to every diner. Each customer is given a bowl to try. We ordered the spicy stuff. The spicy grilled pork belly. So good! Also the Beef Stew in Copper Pot. This is very very spicy, the kind of food that the Mrs have been wanting to eat. She happily ate it and even drank some of the soup! I can’t take the soup, it is way too spicy for me. Plus coz it’s at Westgate, CapitaLand is having free parking. So yeah, we are happy happy! Can come again without the kid, coz the food we want to try here the spicy ones. The non spicy ones didn’t interest us. Hahahahaha. The service staff gave us a Westgate staff pass menu, we said we don’t work here, she said we can order from the special set now during this lull period, applicable to both lunch and dinner service!

Here’s one of the hot desserts available on the menu. It’s the most worth it dessert out of the three we tried. Had quite a bit of ingredients and it’s not too sweet - a warm soothing bowl to end the meal.

This was one of my favourite dishes from the first visit to Yun Nans in Jewel. Really liked how delicate yet flavourful this soup was - all done without a single drop of water, but only the precious chicken essence collected during its pressure steaming process. It’s as good as I remember, and the second method of enjoying the tender chicken meat drenched in an addictive chilli sauce is so smart. Works well!

If you are looking for Chinese restaurant food that is somewhat different from the typical Cantonese/Teochew style you find in Singapore, this is the place to go. Among the many dishes I ordered I thought that the beef stew was delish.
