126 Dim Sum Wen Dao Shi 揾到食 is an old-school dim sum shop that has been serving over 300 fried and steamed dim sum varieties since 1985.

Some items really stand out like the fried carrot cake (super crispy outside while inside soft), fried chicken feet also quite special ( braised n deep fried till crispy) and deep fried BBQ pork bun.
The items that normal is the porridge and siew mai.
💰$35.5

Century egg and minced pork porridge garnished with scallions and fried shallots. The century egg here does not come with a strong pungent which may appeal to more people while the addition of fried shallots does bring some texture and fragrance to the dish 》$3

A dim sum place that runs 24 hours for the owls who crave dim sum late at night. Although the dim sum here isn’t the best, they are pretty affordable with a wide range of items on the menu.

Fried Prawn Dumpling 》$4.80
Fried Banana with Mango Roll 》$4
Siew Mai 》$3.80
Glutinous Rice with Groundnuts 》$3

The egg tarts weren't in the menu and the staff wasn't even sure whether they had them when we asked. He came to us eventually with a packet of 3 which were most likely baked much earlier and wasn't kept warm. They would have tasted much better if they cared to warm it up though. Pretty standard egg tarts, the cookie crust was sweet and buttery and the egg filling tends to the sweeter side.

We were curious what kind of liushabao wouldn't have salted egg as we thought it's definitely an essential ingredient so we decided to order this to try! The filling which was pretty generous, tasted like sweet corn custard and it was not bad, though we definitely still prefer traditional liushabaos.

This isn't your typical xiaolongbao as the soup is outside the bao. They do serve it without the soup as well, which baffles me as xiao long bao is all about the soup inside, if not it'll just be like a regular dumpling. Their soup is unique, with it being rather rich and salty. The texture tasted a bit like collagen soup. This is worth a try but our hearts are still with traditional xlb and probably won't get this again.

We ordered the deep-fried dumplings with cheesy as we thought it would be great to try something unique to 126 Dim Sum Wen Dao Shi! However, it turned out to be a bad choice as it was quite strange for mozzarella cheese to be on deep-fried dumplings. Aside from that, we thought the dumplings were a little over-fried and some parts of the dumplings tasted a little burnt. 😑 We probably will not try anything out of the ordinary if we were ever to visit Dim Sum Wen Dao Shi again!

These are miniature bite-sized versions of the usual char siew paus and we guess they are slightly easier to eat? Otherwise, they taste as normal as other char siew paus!

Very normal siew mai to be honest and nothing out of the ordinary, aside from the fact that they are noticeably larger than most other siew mais. Nothing to rave about either! Based on the other reviews, it seems that 126 Dim Sum Wen Dao Shi had better times in the past.

Nonetheless, we thought the greatest selling point of the eatery is the fact that it is open for 24 hours. Hence, it was a great stopover for us on our night cycling journey in the east. In fact, it was really crowded at 4 am in the morning so do be prepared to be unable to find seats as it is one of the few jaunts that are open at the wee hours in the morning.

Standard has went down a fair bit as for the pricing. This cost us 30 odd. Felt that it is a bit pricy for the standard

What is this? A dumpling for ants? The tiniest wantons I’ve ever seen , hidden by a useless stalk of Chinese parsley that I half suspect was used to partially obscure the fact that the portion was so small. One Two Sucks continuously baffles me with its popularity.

Had mad dimsum cravings last weekend so decided to try 126 instead of our usual Mongkok Dim Sum haunt 🥟🥢
We spent about $51 for 2 pax there and had a filling good time. Notable dishes included their Deep Fried Carrot Cake, Char Siew Chee Cheong Fun and Yam and Pork Belly Beancurd. Other than that, the food was just normal and char siew bao was lacking in sweetness tbh. The 红油云吞 was a measly portion as well 😕

Clockwise: Crab porridge, Crab Meat Chee Cheong Fun, Fried Yam Cakes,Fried Carrot Cakes, Banana mango rolls. Typical nostalgia taste dim sum. Never eaten in the restaurant but overall food quality is not good for this delivery. Oil used was not fresh and fried carrot cakes were oily. You can tell by the colour of the fried items in my photo. Porridge came with crab shells. The only good dish was the Chee Cheong Fun which had the right texture and sauce was good!

honestly had high hopes for my first try but sad to say it didn’t really live up to the hype 🙁 place looked very authentic though and it would be great for all night owls! soft shell crab was something special 👍🏻

Pretty sure many supper fans are familiar with this Dim Sum place in Geylang. Providing a Hong Kong Dim Sum experience, the dim sum dishes are always a comfort food I go back to ❤️

An alternative to the venerable Swee Choon for late-night dim sum, but standards weren’t up to expectations. This would pass muster after a night out, but otherwise falls flat with skin that’s too thick, and adulterated prawn filling. Sadness reigns.

The egg custard was silky smooth, but couldhave benefitted from a touch more seasoning, especially since the miniscule bits of bacon were themselves rather flavourless.

Great old school atmosphere at this HK-style eatery but the food’s a little disappointing. My fan choy was rather dry and lacked an egg – something you’d find in even the mass-produced versions.
