With a raspberry compote hidden beneath the croissant, you will get a burst of tangy surprise when you bite towards the centre. The buttery outer crust of the croissant makes it a delightful pairing together with the bittersweet shaved chocolate pieces. For fans of flaky croissant this might be slightly different as it has more of a denser overall texture.

Hang on, we are almost there🖤

San Domingue - Dark chocolate (70%), Plantain, Rum, Vanilla, Banana & Bittany butter cookie 🍫🍌🍪🖤

Koki's shuu ($4.30 each) hold a very special place in my heart, partially due to the highly disproportionate (but in a good way) ratio of cream to choux pastry, as well as the light, incredibly fluffy cream filling that somehow manages to maintain a delicate balance of flavours without being tooth-hurtingly sweet. While the raspberry rose shuu seemed to be more rose than raspberry, the black sesame shuu boasted a distinct nuttiness and aroma- I instantly knew that it was the real deal! Personally, the matcha shuu is still my number one, possessing a lovely matcha fragrance with a delightfully bitter aftertaste us matcha fanatics all look out for. 🍵🍵🍵

Gorgeous desserts to end the night on a sweet note. Hits and misses for certain elements of the parfaits but my favorite is still the hanami one. (Thanks hand-mode Rainel!😁) Also pictured are the pretty Christmas eclairs ($7 ea)- Kir Royale, a perfumey combination of champagne and cassis creme, marzipan, berries and edible flowers; Kuri Mikan, the mont-blanc look alike with marron glacé, Curaçao creme, orange confit. The chestnut flavour was not strong with this one. Eclairs were sadly dry. (if I'm not wrong, they will be rolling out customization for the eclairs soon.)

LOVED how the place looks - contrary to what the name karafuru is (colorful), the cafe was all-white, with a little black AND they recently collaborated with Alice & Olivia (can I bring the cushions home?!😂) This was hosted by Karafuru Desserts and thanks Burpple for the invite!

If you're a fan of Chikuwa Tei's chirashi (yes, another place you should check out), then you'll love Manzoku, their sister outlet. Expect to find their signature fresh, thick-cut sashimi of hamachi, toro, otoro, mekajiki, kanpachi, hotate, uni and more atop vinegared rice in their Chirashi Special Set ($68). For a less extravagant option, the Chirashi Don ($25) that comes with salmon, tuna, swordfish, amberjack, ikura, and tamago is more than enough to please. If thick cuts of sashimi aren't quite your thing, there's always the Bara Chirashi ($28), which features nicely cubed fish. Grab a couple of friends for dinner after work at this casual joint, but note that parking in the area can be tough! Make a reservation to avoid waiting.

I had the Bara-chirashi salad for only $18 nett. Looks like this is another place to get my sashimi fix besides Teppei/Hana Hana. Somehow sashimi cubes or chunks works for me more than just slices. 🙊 The lunch menu comes with a side dish, soup and iced green tea. Omakase meals(dinner only) are priced at $95 onwards, with cocktail prices range between $26-$28. Finally something DIFFERENT to look forward to at Portsdown! Best news - No GST and service charge!WOO HOO! #EileenWantsToCampHere #Japanese #Sashimi #DstllryCo #OngsLaiJiak #TheThreeLittleOinks #Burpple #BurppleTasteMaker

I'm skeptical about anything red velvet that isn't a cake, and unfortunately this didn't quite deliver.

Maybe it was just ours, but the pancakes were dry and overcooked (you can see that the top one's slightly burnt) and did not seem to have any hint of cocoa. It gets slightly better once you slather some of the mascarpone cream cheese, which was neither too sweet nor tangy. The buttery crumbs were nice, but the star of this dish needed to shine more.

It's quite a sight to behold, stacked tall and mighty with a variety of ingredients. Sadly it was hamstrung by an overdone patty, which certainly didn't do justice to the 120 Day Grain Fed Beef. Perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed by the crowd, but I expect the correct doneness when customers are given the option in the first place

Hear me out when I say this is one that shreds like a dream and melts instantly into a puddle of feverish fats in your mouth when eaten. Punctured by strong hints of spices - the light tangy creamed pumpkin and potato salad on the side worked in perfect tandem with the heavyweight protein。

Truly, a riotous party in the mouth (@thesilverchef 😝) and the best dish I've had at @bythefireSG so far!
