I savoured every bite of the pork chop as it was very well-marinated. The ham was quite unique and it took me a while to get used to the taste. Overall the portion was generous and I enjoyed pairing all the sides with the traditional broken rice. Would come back for more!

New stall at Golden Mile Food Centre that took over the Vietnamese wanton mee. Pleasantly surprised, very tasty! You should give it a try if you're in the area.

Quite good Banh Mi, close to what I had in Ho Chi Minh. Coffee was great too! Made for a great breakfast, will be back for this again.

$6.50 for the Banh Mi, $2 for the coffee.

Mint yoghurt marinated with beetroot and lemon sauce. This was just out of this world. Best lamb I've eaten.

But according to the people there, it is same as Jia Xiang. Just that the name has changed. A bite into the Nasi lemak confirmed that it is indeed the same as Jia Xiang. The gorgeous blue pea rice, the fragrant and tender rendang chicken, the runny eggs and the sweet sambal chilli.. they added mushrooms this time round.

Whipped out the Burpple app and found this little gem of a place selling affordable Penang food. Their signature, this carrot cake was surprisingly impressive! The surface of each piece of carrot cake had this amazing crisp layer that almost had me thinking I was eating lard. 😝With prawns, egg and even little slices of lup cheong, this was a super tasty (but sinful) treat that I’ll definitely be back for one day.

Felt the craving for Teochew porridge and found this spot in my hood that’s pretty popular with the residents. Not the cheapest ($18~ for this) but it definitely satisfied my need for comfort food. The muar otah ($6) was almost all mackerel; super chunky and full of the good stuff. Even the braised salted veg was yummy, with the surprising addition of lard in it! Skip the meh duck though.

Pretty decent food, but the portion was small for what I paid. If you're starving or a big eater, you'll probably need to add on something else.

Needed something extra after lunch, a little on the sweet side 😅

Fatburger, an American casual restaurant chain which was founded in Los Angeles, California back in 1947, has landed in Singapore with the double impact of two outlets. First one to open is at Kinex Mall (previously known as OneKM) situated at the junction of Tanjong Katong and Changi Road. The eatery itself is located on the outside of the building facing the Haig Road Food Centre, so you have to walk along the outside to access it.
During the media launch, we each got to customise a Fatburger to our exact preference - that was fun! We were then served assorted sides to go with our burgers and also, trays of chicken from Buffalo’s Express (a partner of Fatburger here). To go with the boneless and bone-in styles of the chicken, we picked from seven types of sauces including a fiery “Death Valley” hot sauce. These came in little plastic cups so there was no need for clumsy wrestling with foil packets.
I was glad to learn that everything we ate was cooked only upon order and although that meant a few minutes’ waiting time, my food arrived piping hot when it was served to me where I sat. And yes, that kind of service is something you can expect at every Fatburger outlet in the world, including the one at the Velocity Novena targeted to open in the second half of this month.
I would say from among the Fatburger sides I sampled, their Onion Rings ranked no. 1. Made fresh daily using real sliced onions, they tasted really good. I liked how the savoury batter gave a crunchy coating that brought out the natural sweetness of the onions nicely.
