Price is rather steep but drinks taste natural, not too sweet. Sweet potato latte has real pulp of it and beige in Colour. Lavender mango cake has a hint of lavender and zesty mango flavour that is again not too sweet. While grapefruit tea gives a citron tea taste

Hope everyone had a great one with their beloved mothers! 😚 Flashback to this eye catching Tim Ho Wan's new item, fried milk custard. The salivating and rich milk custard burst blissfully in our mouth upon the first bite.

Inhaling One Kueh at a Time (pun intended), their colourful handmade Teochew kuehs should be no stranger to many (at least to those serious about kuehs). Each meticulously filled with a generous amount of filling, it was tough to pick a favourite out of the array of Soon Kuehs they offer as all were exceptionally good. The slightly sticky, chewy and translucent skin was so thin and even.

For the unanimous and safe choice, have a go at their traditional crunchy mang kuang (turnip) with black fungus and dried shrimps - that was juicy and fragrant. The gu chai (chives) were also flavourful and exploding with ingredients. Or surprise yourself with a vibrant Beetroot Kueh that was nicely balanced with none of that pungent earthy taste. Their png kueh too, is white instead of the typical pink as no artificial food coloring is used. Thus, one right after another, you know where to satisfy your kueh-zy kueh cravings.

Refreshing my palette from all the rich food I have been consuming and filling up on antioxidants, I got myself Haakon’s Classic Acai Bowl ($7.90/med, $12.90/large). A little on the grainy side, the organic frozen acai blend was pretty decent and satisfying with a good balance of tartness. Served with a base of chia pudding, the bowl boosted a sweet medley of fruits (dragonfruit, banana, blueberries and strawberries), crunchy granola and topped with my favourite coconut flakes. Hence, providing layered textures as you dig into the superfood parfait. Eating clean made easy.

Probably the most famous place to get murtabak in Singapore, this century-old restaurant serves up some massive murtabaks. Adding an extra kosong prata at the base and additional minced mutton on top, this murtabak needs to be shared (or not, if you're a big eater). Go for the chicken, full flavoured, well-spiced and tender, or the deer if you're adventurous! If you're sharing, go ahead and order some briyani too. Photo by edwyn c.

Tendon Kohaku serves up crispy fried tempuras served on top of fragrant Hokkaido rice and drizzled with speciality sauce. There are about 7 pieces of tempura in the Kohaku Tendon which is really filling. Please read my review at www.hungryghost.sg

From the Cantonese Hor Fun stall at Bukit Timah Food Centre. This stall has brought me great joy and something to look forward to every Monday despite the limited options around the food centre (even though I would reach the food centre before the stall opens, and I would have to rush my way to school after finishing the plate clean in order not to be late for class). It's always a good feeling when I slurp on the silky smooth rice noodles with the light tasting gravy — less sugar, less salt and no MSG as promised. This time round I have opted for the fried dumpling variant instead, and definitely enjoyed the crisp dumplings that envelops a good amount of chunky meat within that's good to even have alone. Chili adds a little zesty zing to the Hor Fun with a pretty mild level of spiciness which helps to flavour up the heavy a bit more. Guess it would be a problem deciding what to have next week before my Monday class; would it be the handmade meatballs, the fried dumplings or the wantons that I have yet to try the one that I should order?

I rarely go head over heels on food like that, and I just love their Choux puffs so much that I need to grab one wherever I am in the area — so much I ended up there every two days to try my luck in getting a go at every single flavour that is on offer (but it's also because I am often in the area for some strange reason). Finally trying the last flavour they have on offer that I have yet to have a taste — again, the Choux doesn't disappoint with its crumbly yet crusty exterior that is nice in between of a cookie and Choux puff, while the insides were filled with a generous amount of aromatic and reasonably sweet Bourbon Vanilla cream. It's crazy how I have been simply dropping by for Choux or just dragging people here just to tell everyone I meet how good these are, but it's certainly something I just cannot hold back every time I pass by!

From the set lunch menu which is introduced today. Overall a dish that seemed to be inspired by Mediterranean flavours; the couscous reminded me of olive rice especially with bits of dried fruit within. The chicken was marinated with turmeric for flavour — a wee bit dry but still decent overall. Green Sambal on the side does give the entire dish a little kick in terms of spiciness — of a level slightly above moderate if had in a substantial amount.

Another gorgeous dessert here, this is a mini world of lush landscaping.

We prefer this to the Twilight Cake. In terms of both texture and taste, there's a lot going on in the mouth with the fluff green sponge cake, crispy dark chocolate soil, and creamy fresh mint custard and apple compote - so be sure to mix all of them and eat them together. While it may be a tad dry, the rum shot helps moisten it and added complexity in its taste.

Which is more popular - the Twilight or Terrarium? Owner Ivan says both, because everyone who comes would order one each. But if you have to order only one, I'll recommend the Terrarium.
