Pistachio was the premium flavour. This time there's this strong bitter aftertaste which was very unpleasant
Meanwhile, the despicable stunned with the banana ice cream, it's so full bodied and well executed. Brownies and walnuts only added to the excellence
Despicable is not to be missed.
Ice cream was not bad, but I feel that the waffle is kind of doughy and not as good as previously. Also, no longer have characol waffle
Had blue milk which is the classic and this new flavour called Soleil under the premium. The Soleil is a mix of coconut, passionfruit and mango. Taste weird for me but I guess is a good try. Total damage is $9.50
Pink guava sorbet was strong and smooth, very good
Brown butter and pecan sucks. Brown butter was weak, and pecans is the very dry almost walnut tasting kind. Ew, it's got no flavour
Apiary!
Got the signature brown butter waffles with double scoop ice cream - apiary and pistachio ($8 for waffle + $9 for double scoop + $0.5 for premium flavour + $1 for signature sicilian pistachio = total $18.50)
The signature apiary ice cream flavour consists of wildflower, honey and cocoa nibs! Very interesting! Got my usual favourite pistachio flavour to try too!
Overall enjoyed both the waffle and ice cream here! Both flavours were good! ๐๐ป
Do not be deterred by the long queue on the first floor. They actually have alot of seating on the second upper floor! Just wait a while for the staff to let you in!
Great place for desserts after dinner!
๐๐๐๐๐ก๐๐จ ($8)
- Made with brown butter which gave it a golden colour, I loved how crispy and airy it was with a sweet fragrance!
- Thick and didnโt turn soggy at all. [8.5/10]
1): Could barely taste any hint of nuttiness and it was rather sweet though the texture was smooth and creamy. [2/10]
- ๐ผ๐ฅ๐๐๐ง๐ฎ: Honey ice cream with crunchy cocoa nibs had a light flavour profile and quite one-dimensional, a slight saltiness would probably combine well with the mellow sweetness. [4/10]
finally tried apiary after hearing many good reviews. there was a weekday waffle w icecream promo so we got 3 scoops at the price of 2!
- apiary (honey based with cocoa nibs!)
- blue milk (very milky with a hint of saltiness)
- 73% dark choc (my fav out of the 3, bittersweet and choco flavour was strong)
Had some time to pop by their Neil Road outlet! As usual I got a scoop of their blue milk. ($5)
Double scoop @ $8.50
+ cone @ $1
One of the flavours is premiume + $0.50
Got the blue milk and black sesame flavours. The blue milk is very nice, the black sesame can be stronger.
It was not how we wanted to end our night
.
[Lychee & Yuzu Sorbet]
I thought it would be sour, it turned out way too sweet for me to enjoy.
.
[Ferrero Rocher]
Another really sweet scoop, the flavour felt too artificially sweet and we didn't enjoy it either. I guess we were expected it to have more depth.
.
[Waffle]
It's so fragrant, crispy on the outside, soft inside. We did enjoy the waffle a whole lot and will go back for it.
.
So many other flavours to try next, I have my eyes on passionfruit sorbet to decide if it's worth going back again after.

got the double scoop waffles with earl grey and some secret tea blend special! i loved the scent of both flavours and while my friend definitely wasnt a fan of the secret tea flavour, i thought it was not too bad it kind of reminded me of nice smelling hand soup with citrusy hints ๐คก we were also kinda thirsty so we bought the choc milk with oatmilk but honestly i couldnt really taste the oatmilk. ill definitely be back to try the other ice cream flavours!
We ordered the earl grey and vanilla flavour. Ice cream was abit sweet and it melted quite fast. Earl grey was very strong but vanilla was mild. The waffle was really good, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It is really one of the better ice cream places.
Been seeing rave reviews about this place, and couldn't resist getting a double scoop even though we were stuffed from lunch! ๐๐ I mean, there's always space for dessert! Mwarharhar!!!
๐๐๐จ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐๐ค ๐ (Premium flavour)
๐๐ค๐ช๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ซ (Premium flavour)
Sadly, the ice cream melted soooo fast and was already dripping by the time we crossed the road, that we were practically slurping it down in a rush to finish it before it became a wet sloppy mess, so we didn't get to savour the flavours well... ๐
I did feel that the flavours here are fairly muted for our taste, and while the ice cream was yummy, I'd probably just pop by our go-to BOP for our pistachio fix next time! ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ญ
Ice cream here is great! Waffles are nice and fluffy, crispy on the outside.
Loved their black sesame, especially if youโre a fan of the filling in sesame tang yuan. Itโs so fragrant and taste just right, not to over powering!
Their rum and raisin was so flavourful, and they the raisins are quite big, if youโre a fan of that.
We are back at Apiary again and we got a table for 2 in 5 minutes on a weekday evening. It was still pretty crowded and noisy (plus a little cramped) though, and it definitely wasn't a nice place to have a chat.
Today, we got a waffle with a scoop of strawberry ice cream and another scoop of pistachio ice cream. Both scoops were really great - the pistachio ice cream was more nutty and not as sweet as that served in other ice cream restaurants, while the strawberry ice cream wasn't overly sweet and it could still bring out the strawberry flavour sufficiently! The ice cream flavours were definitely pretty gentle and were not overly concentrated.
The waffle was crispy and it was also pretty thick. It can definitely be a little filling if you are visiting Apiary after dinner!
However, desserts at Apiary are on the more expensive side, as we paid $15 for the waffle and two scoops of ice cream! Both flavours were premium so they cost an additional $0.50 each. ๐ฐ
Ice cream was very smooth and creamy, not too sweet or gao, with bits of chocolate bites. The hazelnut flavour was also there, and it really resembled the ferrero rocher chocolate! Overall, it wasnโt too sweet but definitely not a dark chocolate kind of bitter. Seats were difficult to get so I did a takeaway!
Apiary tasted like chrysanthemum with cocoa nibs, nothing too special and was a little on the sweet side. Rum & Raisin was quite good, but the rum taste wasn't too prominent and leaned more towards the sweet side. Heard the mint flavour was good but it wasn't available when I went.
