Whoever baked this sure wasn't light handed with their dose of rum. Think this one of their strongest flavoured bakes. As usual good fluffy chiffon, not as sweet ganache. My go-to bakery for all birthday.

Had their limited time hojicha yuzu cake. Was glad that I ordered this. Cake overall wasn't that sweet (as per their usual less sweet), hojicha was very gao, rich and earthy but together with their slightly sweet n tangy yuzu everything came off perfectly amicable.

The Lychee Martini Cake is one of the more popular cakes here at Bloomsbury Baker

The alcoholic taste was distinct and not overpowering.

Cake was adequately moist within as well, texture was soft and the cream within tasted good and goes so well with the Lychee and the Martini.

managed to buy the matcha sesame tartlet, pulut hitam tartlet, strawberry rhubarb tartlet and earl grey macadamia tartlet. absolutely enjoyed the early grey macadamia tart, which had a surprisingly fragrant earl grey flavour. the pulut hitam is a close second as well, would definitely recommend to try! the matcha and strawberry rhubarb however fell short of my expectations.

not photographed is the hojicha yuzu cake which was a father's day special, which was the best item from the bakery! the textures and flavour profiles were both special and done well, definitely give it a try before they remove it from the menu (:

Although I didn’t manage to get my favourite Pulut Hitam Tartlet from Bloomsbury Bakers (sold out in 30min😭), thankfully the other items did not disappoint:

🍓Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble Tartlet ($3.20)
The strawberry rhubarb filling literally lava-ed out of the tart once you cut into it. The tartness of the rhubarb balances the sweetness of the strawberry and the freshness of the fruits really comes through. The tart pastry is crisp and buttery - delightful!

🍵Matcha Tartlet ($3.20)
The first thing that came to mind is that this matcha is INTENSE. The matcha ganache is rich and creamy and the bitterness of the Uji matcha powder complements the chocolate tart. Hard to resist for Matcha lovers out there!

🍫Plain Brownie ($5)
To be honest, I chose brownie over cake simply because I wanted something that is easy to transport, so I didn’t really have much expectations for this. However, the brownie turned out good! It is rich but not cloying, with just the right amount of chewiness. Although I am not a big fan of chocolate, I found myself enjoying the aroma and texture of the brownie.

Glad to have new items joining Pulut Hitam Tartlet on my list of favourites from Bloomsbury Bakers:)!

I may not have a sweet tooth, but I can have the Pulut Hitam Tart ($3.20 each) any time any day! The buttery tart is filled with a layer of black glutinous rice, a layer of coconut panna cotta and topped with toasted coconut flakes. The contrast in textures, coconut aroma and level of sweetness are on point - love it!

The Brownie Speculoos Cookie Butter Tart ($3.20 each) is not bad too - the chocolaty, biscuity and buttery flavours complement one another and the sweetness is balanced by a hint of sea salt. Having said that, if I have to pick one item that stole the show, it will definitely have to be the Pulut Hitam Tart🤤

got this for my 21st, the cheesecake was surprisingly light and not gelak at all. lotus biscoff added a nice crunch to it! just be careful of the mess when cutting the cake 😥

Very well executed piece of art. Lychees were definitely soaked well in alcohol. Cream was light and the sponge was soft and airy. If I’ll have to choose just 1 cake, this will be it!

super unique tart but scrumptious! coconut cream milk top with pulut hitam in the middle with actual rice grains and finally rly buttery tart shells. highly recommend as not too sweet and it comes with additional coconut gula melaka brittle which makes it even better!

Made with a base of digestive biscuit, then filled with Milo cream cheese and lastly topped with Milo nuggets and generous heap of Milo powder
.
Digestive biscuit gave a nice crumbly base to the cheesecake
.
The Milo cream cheese added a rich malty taste and soft texture
.
And lastly milo nuggets provided a good amount of crunch to the cheesecake
.

Looks good. Taste ok. $6.50 a slice.

Nothing fantastic, but they have plenty of other unique flavours that I will return to try.

👍👍

To each his own, and since this is an airy and light cake, I would have preferred the orh nee taste to be much stronger

Many thanks to cake club for hosting and burpple for the invite!

Really interesting how they managed to incorporate the flavours of speculoos into a cheesecake so harmoniously. Really dense and rich cheesecake, delicious!

Speculoos Cheesecake (surprisingly not too sweet) and Orh Nee Yam Cake (my fav!)

As the birthday girl likes earl grey stuff so that was my searching keywords and Bloomsbury Bakers came up with the perfect match when they even have it in her favorite marble pattern. Without hesitation, I placed the order but the price did make me reconsider slightly. However there’s no regrets, totally worth the price.

Hope you're all having a good start to the week! Throwback to a beautiful Saturday at home over some cakes and tea with my lovely wife.
🔸
The four cakes pictured are lemon cream cheese and lavender crumble; chocolate praline with feuilletine and hazelnuts; banana cake with chocolate ganache; and lychee martini with martini soaked lychees.

These cakes are good. Both the sponge and cream are light, while the flavours are balanced. Will definitely order from them, maybe a whole cake for birthday celebrations next time.

The avocado was not really strong or overpowering the whole cheesecake, and it was quite a delightful cake with the crunchy bits flooded all over the top of the cake, upon order they would put the gula melaka sauce. 😍😍 this combination works, the texture sells imo. Costs $6.50

Love their matcha Oreo tart so much it had to take center stage :). We also tried their orh nee yam sponge cake which was fluffy and moist, speculoos tart and their popular avocado crumble cheesecake!

Cozy place where you can sit and daze away. The pulut hitam tart is soft and crunchy. The speculos tart smells good and taste yum. Banana cake taste good on the first few bites. Price is reasonable for the lovely tarts.

A clever fusion of traditional & angmoh dessert. Not a cake person but i quite like the cakes and tarts here. This is one of my fav picks besides the orh nee cake, speculoos cheese cake, etc cuz they are not overly sweet 😝 Cost per slice of cake/tart = ~$6.50 (Sek didnt enjoy her latte 🙄) Environment: Quiet place, clean and cosy looking. Awesome for a gathering with the sisters, a place to sit n chat & chat nonstop 🙊
