• my first time at swee choon (super late, i know) and i personally find it the best dim sum restaurant (taking price into consideration). swee choon served typical dim sum dishes that can be found in most restaurants at lower prices and relatively high quality. we loved everything other than the chili oil wanton and chee cheong fun. highlights of the meal were the swee choon mee-sua kueh, fried custard pumpkin & we can’t decide between har kow, beancurd prawn or carrot cake 🙈🙈🙈. def my fave no frills restaurant & the best news is that they’re delivery island wide now. whee~🥰🥰🥰

No doubt the #1 go-to dim sum place for those who crave a variety of decent dim sum (esp. in the wee hours of the night) – Fav table has got to be those along the roadside kerb as it was a cheap form of alfresco dining. Whoop!

🤪🤪& I can always count on Swee Choon for some good no frills dim sum. ⁣💕

I like their fried series, especially this fried prawn dumpling 🍤 and beancurd prawn roll. Crunchy and generous portions of prawn. ⁣

Other must try dishes are⁣
1: Steamed Salted egg custard bunnn 🤤🤤😍👍🏻👏🏻⁣
2: Their rice roll w prawnss. ⁣

It is time. The moment that you’ve all been waiting for. Or at least the moment that 3 or 4 of you have been waiting for. No more lines like “the soup coated my palate like silk wrapped around my tongue”. No more shenanigans involving rambles of passion and tales of bravado. No more lengthy introductory passages. No m
Im doing it again aren’t I
Shophouse, coffee shop-ish, alley seatings when it gets crowded, very old school stuff
1️⃣ Shanghai Xiao Long Bao ($4.50/4 pieces) - one of the best xiao long baos in singapore don’t @ me
2️⃣ Beancurd Prawn Roll ($3/2 pieces) - I love this shit it’s savoury it’s salty it’s sweet and it’s bomb
3️⃣ Steamed Salted Egg Custard Bun ($4.50/3 pieces) - I don’t normally condone salted egg stuff especially if it’s super tacky but this product of novelty is actually not that bad at all
4️⃣ Drunken Chicken In Shao Xing Wine ($6.50) - one of the better drunken chicken dishes I’ve had in my time
It’s swee choon you’ve all been there and if you haven’t, I

Ordered Liu Sha Bao aka salted egg yolk buns and they were terrific! The salted egg custard was grainy and tasted as great or probably better than those of dimsum places’ that are more expensive!
They xiao long bao is also beyond my expectation. The filling and the soup tasted great although it might be better if the skin was thinner.
They hargau consist of a lot of prawns and tasted good! I also recommend getting this if you’re into hargau.
Zha jiang la mian was also nice, my mum loves it. I gave it a try and I say it’s good!
To satisfy the veggie freak inside of me I also got the Mixed Vegetables which consist of cauliflowers, so un, carrot, and mushrooms and I love it!
BBQ pork pastry was okay. -

This molten bao can be eaten mid meal or as a dessert. The bao skin was very soft but a tad too moist. Still a decent rendition. Comes in 3s.

This was a tad too oily for my liking, with not only the custard fillings but also a substantial amount of oil oozing out as i bit into these deep fried golden balls.

It is a little expensive at $4.80 for 3 though.. #burpple #burpplesg #whati8todaysg #whati8today #sgeat #eatmoresg #sweetpotato #custard #dimsum #purplesweetpotato #sweechoon #supper #deepfried #saltedegg #sgfoodblogger #sgfoodies #sgfood #sgfoodhunt #sgfoodhunter #sgfoodtrend #myfooddiary #sgfooddiary #sgcafe #sgcafefood #sgcafehopping #foodforfoodie #foodforfoodies #foodexplorer
