Lastly, end the savouries with the Traditional Steamed Rice with Chinese Sausage & Braised Mushrooms ($49), jasmine steamed rice with a generous amount of sliced Chinese sausage, chestnut and braised shiitake.

You can’t say you been to @souprestaurantsingapore if you have not tried their Signature Samsui Ginger Chicken😋! As the chicken is steamed without much seasoning, you must dip into their fragrant ginger sauce which goes addictively well with anything☺️. You may also wrap the chicken🍗 in lettuce🥬 to enjoy that extra crunch👍.

A family favourite. Have been eating this for years, and the quality is consistent. The chicken is tender and not dry, and there’s lettuce and cucumbers with some chicken oil served with it. But the best thing is the GINGER! Savoury, sweet and oily with a gingery heat, this is such a sinful but delicious sauce. We usually get an additional serving of ginger because we are ginger monsters! Note that the third plate of ginger is chargeable though (yes we’ve had 3 servings of ginger before). The combination of the refreshing lettuce, meat, ginger and cucumber is wonderful :)

Crowd favourite samsui chicken @souprestaurantsg . Not sure whether the pricing for a large portion is usually this pricey as we ordered off the cny menu. Portion is good for 4-5 pax. My favourite way to eat this is to use the lettuce to wrap a piece of chicken and some sliced cucumber then douse the ginger sauce generously on top. I always feel that it’s a pity that there’s no chicken rice chilli accompanying this dish. Super flavourful lettuce wrap reminiscent of hainanese chicken rice.

My go to dish every time I visit Soup Restaurant. It’s a must get! The chicken is so tender, and the skin is one of my favourite parts! Adding the ginger just takes it to a whole new level!

They have hardly changed the menu over the last 20 years. It is simple, healthy, homey food but so delicious and addictive. In addition to the soups, we always order the same dishes when we come here: samsui ginger chicken, hometown tofu, Shan fu leaves, steamed minced pork, olive rice. Even the waiters are homey and friendly - the culture of this place is strong indeed. Reasonable prices too.

Finally got to try this well-advertised samsui chicken, and seemed like every table ordered a plate. The chicken is well cooked, tender and juicy, half thigh and half breast. Portion is good for the price as well.
If you happen to be a Chinese soup lover, do try their soups as well, quite good standard for the price ($6-10++)
