Random buy. Not nice one. That's actually difficult for this dish.

Many people might don’t like the bitter of gui ling gao but I would say this is perfectly fine, as the sweetness from the mango would cover over it.

Refreshing and chill with the ice as well.

Visited Gong He Guan after a dinner at Chinatown Point, which was located a short walk away from Chinatown MRT. It was a popular spot but we thankfully didn’t have to queue for our seats. One of their staff was also really kind, and offered us extra chairs for our bags. The deco of the place reminded us of Hong Kong, with traditional wooden chairs and tables.

We ordered two of their cold desserts to share. The rock melon with sago was refreshing, with a milky base beneath shaved ice. We believe that some coconut milk was also added to give it extra fragrance. The partner really enjoyed the milky taste of this dish. The other dessert we got was the mango gui ling gao, which similarly came with shaved ice. The gui ling gao cubes were bitter and contrasted well with the sweet mango cubes.

Do give this place a try if you’re looking for a lighter dessert as the servings aren’t too big and won’t leave you feeling overly full even if you had a meal before. Prices aren’t exactly cheap though but the taste is authentic and the ingredients are fresh. For those who prefer warm Chinese desserts, they also have items like sesame paste and tang yuan.

Was craving Chinese desserts and chanced upon this stall! I had the Mango Pomelo Sago, or Yang Zhi Gan Lu ($4.50) and it was so refreshing! 😍 The amount of coconut milk is just nice, making this a dessert that I can finish on my own definitely. One of my friend had the Peanut Paste with Tang Yuan ($4.50) and we loved how smooth the paste was and that it wasn't too thick! The peanut tang yuan were very satisfying as well, due to the savoury sweet crunchy peanut paste within.

This is the walnut Sesame paste. The price is ok at $3.50 per bowl. I am not a Chinese dessert expert so I can't ascertain whether it contains more flour or more of the real ingredients. But the taste is pretty nice.

The gui ling gao was smooth, not too bitter and with the mango, it added bit of sweetness to it! Refreshing and it costs $4.80!

And mine was this satisfying smooth Teochew Orh Nee that wasn’t too sweet.

Found this hidden gem on Burpple as we were looking for our next dessert haunt after a fulfilling meal at Chinatown Complex. The sweetness of the mango goes really well with the light flavors of the guilingao. Highly recommended! (7.8/10)

I always opt for ginger soup with my tang yuan whenever available – that's how my mummy always cooked them when I was little.

Love how the herbal taste of kwai leng guo and the sweet taste of mango went well together. It was enjoyable even though I'm not a fan of plain herbal jelly!
