Food was average, but service left a bad taste.
Visited Grin Affair recently, attracted by a clearly advertised discount. However, when it came time to pay, the manager refused to honour the discount. There were no disclaimers stated anywhere on the listing, yet when we pointed this out, there was no effort made to recover the situation — no apology, no alternative offer, nothing.
We even kindly suggested they update their listing to avoid misleading future customers, but our feedback was brushed off with indifference.
Overall, very disappointing experience — not just because of the discount issue, but the poor attitude towards customer service. Definitely not a place I would recommend or return to.
tried the valhorna dark chocolate, as well as a full waffle with jackfruit + peppermint & black cookie scoops! the waffle was warm n soft inside and the chocolate ice cream was super yummy
Walked round the corner to Grin Affair on New Year’s Eve as Denzy was too crowded. They sell ice cream too. Though ice cream is icy the flavours are nice
Used burpple beyond to get waffles and single ice cream & tea, totalling up to around $21. Staff was clueless about the deal though. For ice cream, only 2-3 flavours didn’t require a top up, the rest requires a varying amount of top up. This deal resulted to be relatively pricey.
A very small shop serving some interesting desserts in Bishan central.
They also have some ice cream flavours that worth trying after meal.
Honey Jackfruit was refreshing with some jackfruit pieces inside.
Known for creating the "cake in a jar" concept, this quaint cafe in Bishan is home to their signature mousse cakes, waffles and ice cream! Burppler ng shi hui raved abour their waffles, which "were very fluffy and i would prefer if they could drizzle more honey/chocolate sauce as i like it sweeter. Their pistachio ice cream was really rich and nutty!!"

Great ambience as it had very chill vibes and they even had a huge TV inside. Their waffles were very fluffy and i would prefer if they could drizzle more honey/chocolate sauce as i like it sweeter. Their pistachio ice cream was really rich and nutty!!
Love how this place opens till midnight. Wish they had a bigger seating capacity, but was cozy and had great music. Great deal having three scoops and waffles 1-1!
Shop opens much later than what was stated. Cake was good but quantity was little. Nice quiet ambience to chill.
Good place for some late night waffle. Price was okay! Ice cream was of right portion and wasn’t too sweet
I appreciated the care taken to craft the latte art despite it being (one of) the simplest items on the coffee menu. I also liked the thickness of the milk, which balanced out the acidity of the coffee nicely.
Roasted Green Tea, Mao Shan Wang Durian and Greyberries. The ice-cream flavours were all a bit on the lighter side, as compared to their counterparts in other ice-creameries. I prefer denser ice-creams but these were good enough for a post-dinner sweet treat.
Vahlrona Dark Chocolate, Earl Grey and Butterscotch. All the flavours were great!! The waffles were good as well - crisp with a sticky layer of maple drizzled on it. The only downsides are that the waffles are a bit small, and the prices for the premium flavours were not very clearly shown.
Earl grey ice cream was good. Mao Shan Wang was average. Waffles are crispy and fresh but a little hard.
Bill came up to be $18.30 after 1-for-1 which is a little pricey.
Always on the lookout for good tea places to chill, and Grin Affair is definitely one of them.

Located under a HDB block near Bishan MRT, grin affair is famous for it’s jar cakes. We really enjoyed both the durian and chocolate banana jar cakes. Grin affair also has a variety of tea at very affordable prices.

Triple Scoop Waffle and Ice Cream (~$15.90 with additional 0.50-1 top ups for premium flavours) 🍦🍦Waffles were disappointing, too crispy and light, so it seemed like it was eating nothing :-( Batter was slightly inconsistent ☹️

Only the ice cream flavours Earl Grey and Peppermint Chocolate Chip stood out for me, and they were pretty good 😍 Others like Cookies n Cream, BlueBerry, Greyberry and Butterscotch were disappointing, and to quote my friends thought they tasted like wall’s tub ice cream....

Pop by this cosy dessert parlour in Bishan serving up coffee, cakes and icy scoops worth the trip. If you love deep, dark flavours, don't hesitate on the Valrhona Dark Chocolate or the Salted Caramel ($6.90 for double scoop); both are equally smooth and good in their own right.

Liked the lavender latte and durian jarcake, not so much the waffles which was rather dense and soggy. Was pretty impressed by the layers of flavours and textures within that small little jar - you get soft vanilla sponge, creamy durian mousse and a dollop of fresh durian on top. Despite charging for service, the staff was rather unfriendly which unfortunately marred the overall experience.
For a more affordable option of waffles ice cream (less a quarter of the usual waffle size). We had cookies and cream and roasted green tea. The roasted green tea tasted very light but the cream in the cookies&cream overwhelmed it. Their other ice cream Flavours to go for are the Mao Shan Wang durian and Japanese green tea! The waffles were really fluffy and fresh!
The mousse beneath the cake was light and fluffy. Durian lovers would definitely love this as there's real durian 'meat' in this small jar of goodness!
