$8.80 // interesting concept from hoshino coffee’s seasonal menu!! it’s basically a dark chocolate chiffon cake that is sliced open halfway so it’s in the shape of a book, and it’s filled with chantilly cream, nama chocolate and chocolate crunch (which i didn’t get to taste because i dropped it 😕😕). they also give you a small canister of valrohna chocolate sauce to drizzle over the cake. the cake itself was a bit dry but the dark chocolate taste was rich (and not artificial at all), but when eaten together with the other components, it makes for a fairly solid chocolate cake (enough to satisfy your cravings without you feeling unfulfilled).
overall, it was good and worth trying but i still feel that hoshino has other better signature desserts!!

Double soufflé pancake topped with a dollop of cream and maple syrup! Fluffy and so good!

What's for lunch today? ☀️ Hoshino coffee's pasta. Personally, I will never patronise @hoshinocoffeesg unless whoever I'm dining with wants to go because of the long queue, long wait for food and expensive food that lacks quality. 💁‍♀️

This was ordered off the brunch menu and cost $18 with a drink of choice. I went with the Hoshino Blend of coffee with hot milk and it was AMAZING. I am fussy about my coffee having worked as a barista for two years and this cuppa ticked all the boxes for me. Strong, aromatic, low acidity and the nutty flavor shone through the entire mouthful. I was really impressed as I was not expecting such good coffee despite the cafe's name.

I was impressed by the food as well. The souffle omelette was foamy on the inside yet full of eggy and umami flavor, especially enhanced when eaten with a dash of ketchup. The pancakes weren't of the souffle type but like a thicker, more airy version of the McDonalds hotcake, and I personally love McD's hotcake so no complaints there. I also like how they give an entire full jar of maple syrup to dress my pancakes with. The smoked salmon wasn't overly salty and paired with the simple salad well.

Overall, it was a very pleasant first dining experience at Hoshino Coffee. I would love to come back and try some of their other food like the souffle pancakes and steak. Also to order another cup of that coffee.

Like the tea, light and refreshing...

As for the pancake, find the eggy smell too heavy, not really to my likings even though it is bouncy looking...

This was certainly a good find during the cherry blossom season, with a special Strawberry Souffle (S$10.80) offered here. Adding some strawberry touches into the mix, the soufflé turned out to be a little sweeter with pink, but the dessert on the whole just earned some good scores for me to plead for it to remain as part of the regular menu.

What I actually did was to put the strawberry cream on top of the soufflé, so that the melting cream tasted even smoother with the warm treat.
