Please watch the episode Fat on Netflix’s Salt Fat Acid to fully appreciate focaccia. Once that is done proceed to get your hands on micro bakery’s Herb Olive Oil Sourdough Focaccia. I’ve not yet had better, more authentic Focaccia in Singapore - period.
Good on its own you can slice them up and toast before preparing a sun-dried tomato dip because focaccia and tomato paste are “food-match-made in heaven”.

My love for bread being explicitly spelt out to my circle of friends part #2. This time a classic frill free brown box wrapped with a ribbon was delivered.
The built up anticipation that lasted seconds was completely enamoured when the scent of fresh focaccia wafted across; cookies, a loaf of non-chilled cake and packet of granola were sighted. The surprise was a small jar of jam hidden amongst the bigger goodies. This is Micro Bakery’s sunshine box - how apt a name I must say.
Beyond just nice packaging the bakes are solid; the lemon yoghurt chai seed loaf cake tasted of citrusy goodness and a gold standard for non chilled cakes in terms of texture and moisture.
As for the sea salt chocolate cookies, it reminded me of a hybrid between famous amos crunch and subway soft chew; only I reckon with premium ingredients.
The focaccia sourdough is so good I will write about it in a separate post.

Somehow don’t feel so guilty eating a cake like this 😄

House made ricotta with roasted tomatoes and spinach on sourdough. The house made ricotta was creamy yet light and the tomatoes were really juicy. The sourdough was not overly toasted as well which made it easy to eat.

They do a mean scrambled egg here, rippled through with meandering swirls, well-seasoned, and most importantly light and creamy in texture. The sourdough bread is of good quality, and the charred mushroom sauced with basil walnut pesto had bags of flavour.

Nothing basic about this. Smooth and creamy avo, so delicious on the crusty country sourdough!
