Was here for lunch on 29 Jun 2023. Was always happy with price performance ratio of Nakhon Kitchen's offerings and been a loyal return customer.
Understand that the cost of materials have went up significantly in the past few years and Shrinkflation is expected. However, $18 for SEVEN pieces of Sotong for a group of five people was daylight robbery and ridiculous. Please see photo taken when the dish arrived - $18 for SEVEN pieces of Sotong.
Highly recommended to visit other alternatives if you are keen on authentic and good Thai food. The food quality at Nakhon is admitted still good - but the rate of Shrinkflation here is ridiculous.
Please do not visit.
The chicken salad is hot and spicy, I was hoping for more mint leaves in this dish, but it tasted good in general.
Red beef curry👍
This was really spicy but I was impressed with the generous serving of seafood — super plump squid rings and prawns!
•Rice Noodle Phad Thai ($6)
•Pineapple Fried Rice ($6)
•Prawn Tom Ka Soup with coconut milk ($6)

1️⃣The phad thai was well cooked, the rice noodle was a chewy. It was sweet but not too sweet👍, I like!
2️⃣The pineapple rice🍍was nice, it was mildly sweet and filling, I like!
3️⃣The soup was too acidic for my liking. I don't know what else to say haha I only tasted abit
4️⃣Kang kong was fresh and crunchy, not too spicy!

Overall, I think everything here was pretty good and affordable, portion was also reasonable!

Rating: I loved it! 8/10 will come back again
Kang Kong With Belachan ($6):
Not too spicy, quite well balanced. Goes well with a bowl of rice.
Red Curry Chicken ($8):
Red curry chicken is just average, lacks flavour. The green curry here tasted much better.
Tom Yum Seafood Soup (Thick) ($6):
Comes with fried fish, prawn, mushroom and sotong.
Tom yum soup is flavorful and it definitely packs a punch! Still one of my favourite tom yum soup in SG
Fast service and very much authentic plate of phad thai! Flavourful, generous serving and very value for money!
Affordable and delicious Thai food. Have to queue for quite a while before seated but food was great and satisfying.
This was how it looked like during my most recent visit haha the ebi sprinkles were kinda new and the portion remained the same. Buuuut, the pad thai tasted too sour for my liking this time and the noodle seemed to be slightly overcooked 😭 I hope they will maintain the consistency of using the previous pad thai recipe.
Worth the price considering the amount of seafood given and soup was extremely balanced with the sourness and spiciness which gave it a kick.
Honey chicken was super good! Savoury and sweet which went really well with their rice. A bit disappointed as chicken chunks weren’t really chunks and mostly were just the battered flour.
$18 total. Authentic thai food with good and fast service! Groovy music too and convenient for drinks after dinner around Holland V area 😉
Affordable date night!

I came here Thursday night around 7 pm. The line is already long. I think we waited here around 20 minutes less or more. They gave us the menu while queueing.
So here it is what we ordered:
- The Tom Yum Seafood is a must eat if you go to the Thailand restaurant, I think. This is definitely a champion. Nothing was wrong. It’s quite spicy in your throat, but that’s what ‘thai food’ supposed to bring the feel to you. Inside got 1 cherry tomato, 1 prawns, 1 long fish meat, 3 or more (idk) squid. We ordered clear soup one. The taste was good.
- Green Curry Chicken ($8) is quite unique for me, maybe because I’ve never taste it before. The coconut milk is really overpowering the taste for me. Chicken was tender and they gave quite a portion.
- Phad Thai ($6) was surprisingly good. Usually I didn’t like kuetiaw type and so called, but this one has the feel that makes me want to eat and eat again. The portion is also quite worth it.
- Another one was Stir-Fried Minced Pork with Basil ($6), it’s a little bit salty but I like it, the meat and the onion with a little bit of veggie, it’s good if you eat it with rice, or without (for me) hehehe.
- We also tried Sticky Rice Mango ($3), I feel for the price it is super worth it. The mango is not sweet, also the coconut milk, but with the sticky rice, they became a perfect pair. I actually never tried it before, but this one quite make a standard for me.
- Thai Iced Lemongrass ($3) was just so so for me. The taste of lemongrass is not really strong, hmm. Idk if I’m going to purchase again or not. Better try the iced tea
Choice of vermicelli or flat noodles for pad thai. Simple traditional dish, can’t go wrong with pad Thai. Nothing special except the portion is huge — very worth for the low price of $6. Queues are insanely long during peak hours so best to go before dinner crowd.
Thai style fried drunken noodle (S$6)
In Mama Noodle version.
Available at @nakhonkitchen
Furiously spicy. Adding fire 🔥 to my anger.
.
Beware of the queue.
The group of 3 who didn’t queue just whacked the indoor table in front of us.
And the staff allowed.
We were treated invisible.
Just because it’s just 2 of us, it didn’t call to treat us like that!!!
Should have taken photo of those 3 and send to Stomp to earn S$50 and for making me 🤬sweating like hell sitting outside!!!!

I needed something really hot and spicy to clear my throat and what better than a clear Tom yam soup .
My first visit to Nakhon and I am pretty impressed with the tom yam soup but I had hoped for a more generous serving of vegetables 😀
The tom yam soup had a good flavour ( funny that I don’t see the aromatics like Lemongrass or the galangal bits in the soup ) and was enjoyable .
The rice noodles texture were pretty good - chewy , slightly undercooked (but better than being overcooked ).
Inexpensive, taste is very good. Highly recommend Clear Tom Yum Soup, Green Curry, Pandan Leaf Chicken
Good ol’ clear Tom Yum Soup from Nakhon Kitchen. I’m a strong advocate of clear Tom Yum Soup as I’m not really a big fan of the milky ones. The clear ones are spicy, tangy, full of flavour and the addition of coconut milk actually dampens it.
Nakhon has several outlets sprinkled around Singapore. I only patronize this outlet because it's the nearest to home. Reached around 6+ and it was full and there was a queue of over 15 pax before me. Total wait time from queue to arrival of food was about an hour. No reservations accepted. Definitely not for hangry people!
I always order the same dishes- grilled pork, honey chicken, green curry chicken, clear tomyum soup. Mains range between $6-8, more if you're ordering seafood. Not seen in pic is a bowl of rice and fried beehoon. They serve free flow lukewarm water if you do not feel like spending half a main dish worth ($3) on Thai ice tea.
Total damage was $33. Same price as the asahi tower from the restaurant across Nakhon. Lol.
