The taste of food is nice. But the speed of service is very very slow although only half capacity.

Steamed tofu with chicken basil @ $10+

Tofu is nice and soft, goes well with the sauce. Wish there's a bit more minced meat.

Tom yum seafood soup with chilli paste @ $9+

Good balance of taste and not overly spicy. This is for small size and there's quite some ingredients (fish, sotong, prawn).

Many dishes here to choose from and can also get single person's meals. Will be back again.

This dish was a surprise. The kway Teow was not dry and had “wok hey” taste. Was tasty to eat and worth the try

Delicious Thai food with a nice mix of dishes in the set. Pork belly was not dry and pineapple rice was not too oily. A nice fix for Thai food craving

Hidden in Everton Park, @myo_cafe offers affordable rice, pasta and side dishes that come in a variety of flavours. We tried the tomyam prawn pasta, laksa prawn pasta, chicken karaage with sriracha mayo and Thai iced tea! Portions were generous and the prawns were fresh too. We just would have liked them more if they were more spicy as the tomyam was more on the sour side and the laksa was rather creamy. The chicken karaage was crispy and made a nice addition to our meals as well 😌

Delicious Thai style hotpot, with a variety of options to customize your dish. Fish and cockles were nice and fresh. Spice level of tom yum soup is also adjustable. Pairing the hot pot and thai milk tea is my favourite combi!

The Thai Pork Soup Noodle came with an ensemble of rice noodles, pork balls, sliced pork, bean sprouts and cilantro in a heady soup base.

Yet another day in the office again and checking out the coffeeshop at the foot of Blk 261 Waterloo Street too — this time for CK Cuisine which is located just right beside Liang Ji Char Kway Teow which had since relocated from Tekka Place (they also seemed to have opened outlets at other locations; one being at Sims Place).

CK Cuisine’s menu seems rather Thai-inspired on first look; the menu comprises of items such as Thai Pork Noodle Soup, Thai Grilled Pork, Thai Style Marinated Top Shell etc. — one can also find newspaper clippings of Chef Calvin Koh being hung around the stall about this very coffeeshop stall which he started after leaving his stint at Ibis Styles Singapore in MacPherson.

While the Traditional Nanyang Soy Pork Rice is something that seems a little far from their other items on the menu, this was still a dish that I found exceptionally comforting. Featuring different cuts of pork, there is a good mix of leaner and fatty parts in the bowl — I also liked how they have partitioned the pork away from the white rice in the takeaway packaging so the rice doesn’t turn too soggy if the item needs to travel the distance (‘cos deliveries and takeaways only now). I really loved how this felt like home-cooked food done right; like how it is a simple soy sauce-based item that is aptly thickened for flavour without being all dense and gloopy — the sauce going especially well with rice and was a sheer delight to have. The addition of quail eggs breaks the monotony between chunks of pork; the use of smaller eggs also giving the dish and improved texture over just a single braised egg which sometimes may feel jelak and a tad dry. Was also pretty impressed with how fresh the veggies tasted here — its rare how even the spring onions did carry a refreshing crunch; more often than not used to merely boost aesthetics without adding much value to the flavour of the dish.

Decided to also be a little fancy by pairing up my lunch with a White from Kurasu just located behind the coffeeshop (just a short walk from Clap Cafe, which is located just right beside Kurasu) — satisfaction guaranteed.

This felt like a clean, healthy bowl of noodles and I was happy with it because I wasn’t feeling a spicy bowl of tom yum. The broth wasn’t too salty and the chicken meatballs were very generous! This is a great alternative for non-spice lovers and children.

That’s a win, so that we can share a nice meal over Tom Yum. My first time at the Funan outlet, relatively spacious. Ordering was all via the touchscreen but it was a pretty seamless process. Hearty soups and not too spicy so it’s a friendly option. As my friend pointed out, their Thai Tea even Hot, was pretty satisfactory. Would consider coming back again especially with to eat with Muslim friends!
