First visit to pantler and this pretty cake caught my eye. Made with vanilla mousse, strawberry gelee, almond dacquoise. Smooth vanilla mousse made with vanilla pods envelops the cake, which has a sweet jam hidden in the middle. Thin layer of sponge cake lies at the bottom. Pretty looking lil' thing here! With a dollop of fresh cream, grapefruit and some sorta jelly-ish bit enveloping the grapefruit. Beneath sits an almond tart/cake base enclosed within a pastry tart shell - akin to fried wanton skin! Personally, I didn't quite like the grapefruit above (it's supposed to be the highlight!) - it was a lil' too hard, tardy and tart-y for my liking. Nevertheless, a pretty piece of cake which fuels excitement!

This was highly recommended by my colleague, who shared that it's one of Pantler's signature. To be honest, i'm not a fan of strawberry shortcakes and this piece here, unfortunately, didnt scream 'wow!' in terms of looks, nor taste too. Fair enough, the strawberries were really sweet! It's a good sponge cake with strawberries and cream - if you're a fan, I would agree this would be one of the prettier and better strawberry shortcake but if not, spend the $ on other prettier cakes available!

The exterior was very crunchy just like the curry puff I had moments earlier. Unlike the curry puff though, the pastry shell was thicker, slightly harder and less oily/greasy. The filling inside was absolutely amazing as it was loaded with light, subtly sweet, cheesy ricotta and citrusy sweet orange. The acidity of the orange confit helped to balance out the rich buttery and cheesy notes of the pastry shell and the ricotta respectively.
Taste: 9.5/10

Pantler Cheesecake
Your normal cheese cake with digestive biscuit base. Cake integrity was really weak, it crumbled really easily. But it's moist and not overly sweet.

Puits D'amour
Banana custard with a subtle taste of rum, which does not overpower the overall pastry. Placed on a fresh flaky puff pastry.

Very rich chocolate cake which reminds me of a better version of four leaves’ coco exotic cake. Would want to come back to try the other options!
