Had my sashimi cravings satisfied at @shinkeibuffet!

The value-for-money buffet spread includes over 120 Japanese favourites like makimono, yakimono, tempura, aburi sushi, nigiri sushi and much more. The main highlight would definitely be the fresh thick slabs of sashimi from the sashimi moriawase. The hamachi (yellowtail) was exquisitely sweet and just shiok. I would probably just sit in again and just stuff my face with the sashimi platter.
Lunch and dinner buffet goes for $45++ for adults and $29++ for children below 10 years old. For the rest of the few days of January, every 2nd diner gets 50% off!

Featuring some of the buffet items like include Tempura Moriawase with assorted tempura, Asari Clam sautéed with butter and soya sauce, Satsuma Imo Roll (sweet potato), Age Gyoza, Zukkini Be-Kon (Zucchini wrapped with bacon), Bata Suitokon (sweet corn with butter), Shishamo (pregnant capelin) and Saba Shioyaki (grilled mackerel with salt). Most impressive item of all was the Satsuma Imo Roll (most right in the picture), with subtle sweetness of the mashed Japanese sweet potato wrapped with a crispy thin layer on the exterior!

The best news is that there is a promotion in Jan 2016 with 50% every 2nd diner (adult prices only) on a daily basis for both buffet lunch and dinner!
They ensure top-notch freshness by getting their sashimi air-flown almost daily from Japan and Norway. Featuring the Sashimi Moriwase consisting assorted sashimi platter served on ice, you get to enjoy this for the first serving. For subsequent orders, it will be placed on the usual platter.
Other than the usual sashimi such as salmon, yellow tail, squid, octopus, swordfish and snapper, what is more interesting is the Aburi Salmon! The raw part remained atop the ice, while the torched salmon was facing up.
The smokey flavour was prominent, and I was quite surprised that they serve it as part of sashimi! The rest of the sashimi were fresh, and pretty generous with the thick cuts. So for sashimi lovers, DON’T WAIT ANYMORE. Enjoy the free-flow sashimi.

Being an ala carte buffet, the chef only prepares the food when you order them which means the food is kept fresh and not left outside for display which can be dangerous in times like this.
Located at Toa Payoh beside McDonald's, the restaurant offers lunch daily from 11am - 2.30pm and dinner daily from 6pm-10.30pm at $45++ for adults and $29++ for kids below 10yrs old.

Unfortunately I was disappointed with the quality of the sashimi and the ala carte items. Other then the Mango Tamago Sushi, all the other items were just really average. Totally not worth the $40ish paid 😔 any better ones out there?
