I might have overrated them previously. The ckn is tender and the light sweet sauce is still nice, but I don't think it's mind-blowing

I have to say their diluted chili does work perfectly w the sweet sauce, hence the best way I think is to debone each piece and have it w the porridge along w some chili

However their ckn is rlly not deboned v well, there's a lot of small bones and it's v annoying to eat

Not many stalls selling this type of Cantonese Chicken Porridge in Singapore. This Bib Gourmand stall is located in Jurong West. They don’t even display the Michelin Bib Gourmand sticker, this stall has very short opening hours and it’s only after my third visit, I finally managed to get to taste it.

Ordered an individual set for $4.50. Portion is generous, a large bowl of porridge and a plate of chicken. The porridge is not your typical Cantonese porridge whereby the rice is boiled to a paste. You can still see individual grains here, slightly softer than Teochew porridge. But it is full of flavour, sesame oil and soya sauce drizzled on top and garnished with chopped spring onions. The chicken is soft and tender and it comes with the fragrance of sesame oil.

Overall a good serving of Cantonese Chicken Porridge but personally I still prefer the one from Dunman Food Center.

Looking to get your yusheng fix during non-CNY period (like me)?

You can get it from this Michelin Bib Gourmand stall which serves tender, succulent poached chicken (that is absolutely delicious!) paired with smooth, velvety Cantonese style porridge.

Their abalone yusheng [salad] is equally impressive with a mix of crunchy shredded lettuce, carrot, ginger, spring onion, cracker and sliced abalone (replacing the raw fish) dressed in their special blend of sauces. Yum! 😋

Ckn is absolutely tasteless but that's why it goes with the godly sauce. It's light and sweet and infinitely addictive

This is one interesting way to enjoy you chicken meat here. Unlike the usual pairing with rice, this stall served it with porridge.

The porridge taste not too bland, I actually enjoy it when it is warm. The chicken meat also juicy, definitely a comforting meal you can have from this stall.

There are several Chicken Rice stalls at Blk 505 Jurong West Food Centre while I personally feel that Soh Kee Cooked Food stand out from the crowd.
.
Listed in the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2021 Bib Gourmand, not the usual Chicken Rice stall as they specialise with Chicken with Porridge set. Price from $3.50, it comes with a huge bowl of Porridge accompanied with tender and juicy Steamed Chicken. What I usually order is the chicken thigh ($4.50 per set) as featured.

They’re a new entrant for the 2021 Michelin Bib Gourmand so I was curious to see if it lived up to its award and damn right it did. For one, the portion sizes here are MASSIVE. My porridge was spilling over when I carried it back to the table. Porridge is also on the grainier side which I quite liked. It was also packed with ingredients. Got their poached chicken on the side too and this was Uber tender and juicy too. The place is pretty ulu but I’d go back for it.

When you're sick of the greasy chicken rice. Try this! Porridge paired with steamed chicken, great for any time of the day.

Really smooth and succulent chicken. Comes with a sweet and savoury light sauce. Mix everything (incl the zingy chili) into the white porridge for an extremely comforting meal. One of the best white chicken in my books for sure

If there's one stall to visit at Jurong West 505 Market & Food Centre, this is it. The food centre has recently reopened after several months of renovation, and it's finally time to once again taste Soh Kee Cooked Food's amazing steamed chicken. For an honest and simple breakfast, bring the family here in the morning and order the Cantonese-Style White Cut Chicken (from $10 for half a chicken) to pair with a bowl of velvety smooth Plain Porridge ($1). The chicken is extremely tender with a layer of gelatin right under the skin that gives it its great texture, while the silky smooth porridge is tasty even on its own. A long-time fan, Tastemaker Vanessa Kou also loves the gravy-soaked cucumber slices, and how the savoury sauce is just spot-on.
Avg Price: $5 per person

An unassuming bowl of porridge which turned out to be very flavourful and comforting, that one will go to no matter how hot the weather is. Even for someone who loves (over)eating with a variety of side dishes, I probably could have had the porridge by itself. But then again, with the succulent, silky smooth chicken from this stall, why would I do that? 😛 I also liked the abalone yu sheng - it's like cny all over for me with the piquant sauce, mixed vegetables like crunchy shredded cabbage, carrots and crisp crackers, with a good bite from the abalone. Apparently they used to sell raw fish but have since switched to abalone, which is a pretty good idea too!

Breakfast Goals: Big bowls of steaming plain porridge ($1/ bowl) and a plate smooth, fork-tender Cantonese-Style White Cut Chicken ($10/half chicken) complete with addictive savoury sauce.

A family favourite, I had to satisfy my craving for Soh Kee Cooked Food’s Chicken Porridge before the food centre undergoes major repair works for the following months. Consistent throughout the years, the moist chicken presented in thick chunks has got just the right amount of saltiness from the sauce. The thin layer of gelatin under the skin and gravy-soaked cucumber are also the best-loved elements of the dish (at least for me). Perfect with the simple bowl of porridge.

*Closing for renovation starting next month, Blk 505 Jurong West St 52 Market and Food Centre will only reopen at the end of May.

If you are ever in the area, you have to give this hawker stall a try. Extremely tender chicken and the porridge so smooth it just slides down your throat.

The poached chicken goes well with the porridge and we had a early ‘lo hei’ tossing the abalone and the shredded vegetables #sgmarketfood #sgfoodlover #sgfoodblogger #burpplesg #burpple #sgfooddiary #hungrygowhere #foodporn #foodstagram #foodlover #localfood #streetfood
