There was a big group of male diners with super rich voice cords. Plus the low ceiling in the place, the noise level was extremely high. It was so difficult for us to hear one another & it was so tough for us to have catchup conversations over the meal 😔

It’s nice to revisit rice table again after a hiatus for 10 years .

It’s the same cosy place and food is still good.

The Tahu Telor alone is worth coming back for time and time again.

Crispy egg with toufu and then drenched with an aromatic peanut sweet sauce .

I was craving ricetable’s luxurious homemade peanut sauce that they use on their chicken satay so made a trip down and was Glad to get seats without much hassle .

The Javanese style chicken soup ,tahu telor , Sayur lodeh , Chicken satay In homemade peanut sauce, beef rendang and their homemade fruit salad in a sweet and sour vinaigrette were exceptionally good .

For a fuss free meal and for a free flow alar carts buffet at 18.95 NETT ( mind you 😝) in town , this was really value for money .

The restaurant had a nice ambience and is newly renovated so perfect for small gatherings and birthday / full month celebrations 😊

The warm fragrant crispy egg and airy soft tofu are drizzled with special sweet sauce, delivering an out of the world taste and texture. One can only repeatedly order this. This is part of the buffet spread at Rice table which is Super value for money at $19 nett (weekend lunch). It's like Tambuah Mas but buffet style at the same price.

Can you tell which are dishes that made it to our 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds?
Ans: sayur lodeh (2x), satay (3x), grilled chicken (2x), curry chicken (3x), tahu telor (4x!) sweet & sour fish (2x)
Highly recommend this Indonesian buffet restaurant during lunch for its excellent taste and value. ($18.90 nett for lunch, $29.60 for dinner)

At Indonesian restaurant The RiceTable ($17.90 nett for lunch; $28.50 nett for dinner), there's no scurrying around to fill your plate, nor is there a time limit to adhere to. Instead, they follow a unique Dutch style of enjoying Indonesian dishes called 'rijsttafel' (meaning 'rice table'), where samples of many different dishes are served. Once you take your seat, steaming white rice is dished onto your plate, and 11 (at lunch) or 20 (at dinner) refillable small dishes are brought out and arranged neatly on the 'reschaud', a narrow raised table that acts as a food warmer in the middle of the table. It all happens within seconds, so you can start digging in almost immediately. Portions are adjusted according to the size of your group, such that everyone will have one piece of every item. Decide which dishes you love most and order them again! Look out for the stellar deep fried sweet and sour fish, flavourful curry chicken, tauhu telur and super-meaty chicken satay that our community loves. Pro tip: Even if you're dining solo, you will still be served the entire range of dishes with the option to refill, making it a perfect choice in town for a satisfying yet affordable lunch if you're flying solo, or with groups of any size.
Avg Price: $20 per person
