So, we settled for the next best thing โ€“ crispy fried chicken with paper-thin skin that was so crisp it melts in the mouth beautifully. There were five of us; hence, we figured a small would not be enough. We settled for the large instead, and bear in mind that this was after our sake steamboat rampage. But in our defence, they didn't have a medium and one of us just joined dinner. Of course, we finished every single juicy and five spice-spiked piece of it including every last slurp of the hor fun. We used too much energy from laughing what. Ok, that's all.

The prawns are as fresh as they come...such glorious sweetness and that inimitable crunch with every bite. The sake-spiked superior stock permeates beautifully into the shellfish, adding such depth to its natural flavour. The almost crunchy black fungus works perfectly with the meaty shimeiji while the silky mung bean threads โ€” tied in a bunch to maximise bite โ€” complements the thin discs of asparagus. Ok, that's all.

Can't wait to outpro from reservist and back to civilian world in a few hours time! On a side note, where can I get good egg tarts (flaky or crispy crust) in Singapore? For now, Tong Heng's Diamond egg tarts with coconut strips is the undisputed champion. The velvety egg custard and flaky crust is just simply irresistible. I can totally imagine myself biting onto the piping hot egg tart that's fresh off the oven now.

After being cooped up in office for so long and eating mainly canteen food everyday, we finally went out for a team bonding lunch today at Yum Cha Restaurant! Definitely not my top pick for a dim sum restaurant, but this will suffice for now. Decently priced and food came fresh and prompt. Special shoutout to the Steamed Custard Bun with Salted Egg Yolk (่’ธๆตๆฒ™ๅฅถ็š‡ๅŒ…, 3 for $4.60) as not many restaurants are able to keep up with the quality and consistency due to the surge in demand. This ๆตๆฒ™ๅŒ… can definitely ๆต.

Located in Serangoon garden country club, super yummy yumcha. But don't expect much from the service. They seem angry most of the time, orders get missing and they take awhile to return the pot of tea to you. No complains about the food though!

Rice flour roll was thin and silky. The prawns were fresh, and the sauce was light and not too salty. One of the favourites to order during dim sum!

Fried to crispy perfection, and not too oily. The mango filling was sweet and soft, and paired really well with the savoury prawn filling.

They offer a wide variety of dim sum with 40-plus types to choose from. The dim sum quality varies, and it is a hit and miss. This time was pretty good. The har gao skin was just right and not too thick. The prawn filling was well-marinated and moist, unlike some that tend to be a little dry. Although there weren't many people in the morning, our orders still got mixed up towards the end. Could be because we ordered quite a lot, but nevertheless still a bit of a bummer.

Their dinner menu is really wide and of good quality too!๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘ Do you know that Yum Cha does home delivery now as well? Hot and yummy dim sum served to your doorsteps. Why not?๐Ÿ˜Œ

Yum Cha offer a unique dim sum dining experience - be it lunch/dinner! For instance, the deep fried cheese prawns balls with almond is unique to the outlet at serangoon garden only! Beside dim sum delicacies, Yum Cha also offers 'Tapino' dining style (a traditional Cantonese hot pot). Read up on my dayre for the yummy spread of food I had. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‹
