Antoinette just made my matcha dream come true! The Matcha Fetish featuring 22 matcha savoury and sweet options is launching at their 30 Penhas Road outlet today till end July 2016.

Be on cloud nine with this cotton candy above a cup of Matcha Latte served with sweets and pastries. The latte is sugarless and the heat from the drink melts the cloud above and sweetens your drink up!

The much raved about French toast was indeed pretty good. Soft and eggy, it's wonderful enjoyed with some of that melted unsalted butter and a dab of chunky homemade kaya. The crispy super thin toast was also enjoyable. Our experience however was soured by the horrible service. We were continuously rushed to make our orders despite the near-empty store; yet when we finally did our orders were taken wrongly. A wrong payment was demanded of which no refunds were granted. Since the food isn't all that mindblowingly awesome, I'd rather stick to convenient and friendly Wang's for my kaya toast fix.

Wet or dry, the absolute basis of a good hor fun lies in its wok hei. That necessary smoky lick from a well-seasoned Chinese cast iron wok is irreplaceable and hard to obtain. But good cze char places pay attention to these minute details. Had this plate of satisfying noodles when I was sick last week. San lor hor fun when done right can be super delicious. Most important thing is not let it get bland. The fish slices here were generous and meaty and fresh - another important must-have. I was impressed I came back to buy some home for dinner for my boyfriend. He loved it too!

My favourite BCM since young. I have been eating from this stall since I was young. It was always breakfast for the weekends! I rmb how my dad will bring me to the stall every weekend to queue for this. The stall has been passed down to the 3rd generation and surprisingly the taste has maintained. Fond memories of where I used to stay. This is to say, West side does have nice food!! This is the type which has no meatballs at all. It's super good when you add lots of black vinegar, and I love how sweet the soup is! One word: SHIOK 👍 even though I'm no longer staying in that area, I still travel back frequently for a good dose of BCM! 👍👌#Hawkerpedia #oldschool #eatingthisfor19years

I get a craving once in a while for this traditional local breakfast of fried dough sticks and black coffee. Otherwise known as "you char kway" and "kopi o". Probably not the healthiest way to start my day but I am surrounded by octogenarians in this hawker centre who prove otherwise 😜 My absolute favourite place to indulge in this combo is at Bedok North Blk 216 hawker centre where you can find the "kopi" and "you char kway" stalls side-by-side.
Fellow Burpplers, the "Rui Xing Ka Fei Cha Shi" stall located at #01-42 is no ordinary "kopi" stall. Open from 3am to 10am everyday except for Mondays, it has a never-ending but fast-moving queue of thirsty customers who long for their strong and aromatic "kopi" (I think their most popular drink is the "kopi c"). The stall is run by middle-aged siblings and they have a really smooth operation. One of the main guys is a joy to watch as he has the slickest moves and practically gets jiggy with it while making each cup. The "you char kway" right next door is already tasty on its own. I have however, always preferred dipping it into my "kopi o" because that's the way my grandma used to have hers. #hawkerpedia

A slice of buttery pineapple turnover cake with an iced latte to start the day @myawesomecafe. Haven't been back in a long while and the menu has grown! Gotta find time to eat my way around Telok Ayer again.

Also making full use of my @the_entertainer241 at @jewelcoffee before it ends as well. #省省省

Was super excited to try this and it did not disappoint. The ba chor mee was cooked to perfection - it wasn't too soggy and was at the right consistency. The tamago egg was a welcome addition; something a little more unique and interesting. I would have preferred it without the abalone pieces, so it would be cheaper than $6.80. As for the salt-baked chicken, it was super tender and well marinated. I was trying to swipe at the last bit of sauce/juice with the last piece towards the end of the meal. Would be fantastic with a plate of rice to soak up all the chicken juices.

Japannese curry rice sedap!
Sumibi chicken curry rice $7.90 and Ulimited Original Curry Rice $19.90 (pork、chicken、beef、potato and hard boil egg😍

5 munchies: All my favourite ingredients are hidden under that slab of melted mozzarella – ramyeon, topokki, shrimp, clams, mussels, squid, and Korean fishcake. The sweet and spicy gochujang-based sauce for the stew was so rich, so tasty. I went to seventh heaven after having this with Joo Bar's warm kimchi with mangalista pork belly and a jug of organic makgeolli!

This was a hosted meal by Joo Bar; many thanks to Man for the warm hospitality and Eleanor for extending the invitation!

If you enjoy local delights and lazing around in a seriously chilled out spot (with an old-school VW thrown in for good measure), make December 2nd the day you head down to Kombi Rocks in Yio Chu Kang. Tuck into their signature Kailan with Taukee and some homemade Barley, and Kombi Rocks will contribute to Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home for disadvantaged kids. It'll be the perfect way to chill your day away, and watch a lovely sunset.

*On 2 Dec, order Kombi Rock's Signature Kailan with taukee and home-made barley to contribute towards Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home.

That elusive smokey flavor. Yum. The food was alright, in general. I wanted it to really really wow me. Guess my expectations are biased. However, the service was EXCELLENT. Best service I've experienced in a long time. Great job La Taperia! Perfect setting for a birthday dinner celebration.
