Pleasantly surprised by how great these XLBs were. Itβs comparable with all the good places that do it as the broth is Super flavourful and the skin is silky smooth. Highly recommended!
This was my first time returning to the refurbished Kazu. Every skewer is seasoned lightly, and it's so on point that you'll know that it's because of that grain of salt. Foie gras is my favorite dish on the menu. Melts like butter and absolutely loved the charcoal aftertaste. Please help yourself and finish off with a gush of golden Asahi. Happy days.
Ardent long-time fan of Kazu Sumiyaki! I don't know what i would do if they close this place downπ Def my fav restaurant in SG for top notch yakitori that isn't insanely overpriced. It's been quite sometime since i've felt so satisfied with my meal ππ Do make your reservations before going.

Pros: Everything i tried was so delicious! There is this awesome smoked and charred taste that yet isn't burnt. Place is vibrant & cosy with the dark lighting. Food served at just the perfect temperatures, i believe they let it "rest" prior to serving. Fav dishes: Foie gras, okonomiyaki, chicken wings, buta ringo, yaki awayuki (a dessert that deserves a post of it's own)
Cons: May come off salty to some, but it was perfect for me. Chicken fillet w mentaiko was a bit wonky today, bitter and dry - usually it's really good and i can eat 2-3 pcs. I find their beef & cooked dishes like soup, fried rice etc... not very well done, can do without ordering. Will not order their sashimi's as well, unless it's a seasonal catch.
Price: S$123.60 for everything pictured +2 hot green teas
Located along Boat Quay is yakitori restaurant, Omotenashi. Limited to only 10 servings per day, Omotenashi's coveted Wagyu Don is a delicious combination of skewered cubes of charcoal-grilled Wagyu beef on pearly Japanese rice. At $16.90 for the lunch set, which includes a small side salad and miso soup, this Wagyu Don is a great option without breaking the bank. Just remember: ONLY 10 servings per day. Get there early!
Here's a tip on how to take this already tasty item to another level. Order a side of poached egg, drop it in the soup and gently bash it up. Then let the sandwich-dunking begin.
Fluffy Earl Grey Pancakes drizzled with a smooth Nutella sauce, Macadamia crumble and a lightly poached pear to top off the sweet stack.

Step into this no-frills, old school coffeeshop along North Bridge Road and be transported back to the 70s, where it almost seems frozen in time. Look for the elderly uncle in his signature white singlet and pyjama pants who, according to our Burpple Engineers who frequent this place at least thrice a week, makes "the best kopi" around the area. Order their specialty, Kopi Guyou ($1.10), which literally means "coffee butter". Similar to the Western style bulletproof coffee, the Kopi Guyou here is served with a slice of butter for that midday energy boost.
La Nonna is one of our top places for hearty, homey Italian fare, and that certainly includes their thin-crust pizzas baked to order in their wood-fire oven. Book a table for Sunday lunch with the family and order the La Nonna Pizza ($24.50). A longtime favourite on the menu, their signature tomato-based pizza is a winning combination of mozzarella, parmesan, asparagus, black truffle paste and a oozy egg. Another one to try is the Meat Lovers ($25.90), a tomato-based pizza topped with mozzarella, onion, salami, ham, pancetta and roasted chicken. Portion sizes are generous so pace yourselves! Pro tip: While more out of the way compared to this Holland Village outlet, their Namly Place restaurant offers slightly more competitve pricing ($23 for the La Nonna Pizza), but the Meat Lovers is not on the menu there. This might be something price-sensitive Burpplers would want to consider.

The 'lad' the stall's name refers to is none other than owner Keith Koh, who studied in London. Together with his dad, the duo serves up British comfort food. Since their move from Serangoon Gardens to the more centrally located Maxwell Market, the menu has also expanded from their initial offering of stews to include more iconic English eats like Bangers and Mash ($8) and a most indulgent Bacon and Chip Butty ($4). As Tastemaker Wei Zhi Chiang says, how can anybody not love the combination of toasted buttered buns, bacon, fried hash brown and a fried oozy egg? There's also the option to add a savoury layer of melted mozzarella cheese β this is certainly not for the faint-hearted. Tastemaker Jean Kao loves the English Fry-Up Platter ($12), which left her gobsmacked with its generous portions and spot-on preparation. In addition to the usual baked beans and sausages, it also includes grilled cherry tomatoes, mushroom and sweet onion relish, and homemade potato hash. As Tastemaker Jean aptly puts it, "this plate would've cost almost twice as much in cafes, and some will not be able to even achieve the same level of awesome". If you're here for lunch, don't miss their Beef Stew ($10) that comes with their much acclaimed, dreamy Yorkshire pudding. You can also enjoy the Yorkshire pudding with vanilla ice-cream for only $3.

Just the second day of reopening and the queues at Hambaobao 2.0 are immediately back! Sandwiched between two well toasted fluffy buns are these thick chunks of crackling fatty pork belly topped with slices of crunchy Japanese cucumbers. The sweet tangy Hoi Sin sauce and English mustard helped to bring it all together with the latter giving that nice extra kick. The hand-cut fries are available for top up at $1.50 and although they are not the crispy sort, were still seasoned well and nice to munch on in between. Also, what's a burger without fries?! Really enjoyed the burger but I'm not sure if I'll join the queue if it's crowded (my friend queued for more than an hour!).
Although it's still uncertain if the stalls are here to stay permanently, I'm sooooooo happy that Beauty World's food centre is back up and running with most of its original stall holders. Really missed all the hustling and bustling so much! #BurppleYoungHawkers
