Nestled right in the heart of Arab Street (and a newly opened outlet in Jewel), this popular bakery withstood the test of time by churning out solid rolls of soft and fluffy cakes complete with rich and creamy fillings. Fall in love with their uber popular Kaya ($8) swiss roll that is delectably eggy and fragrant. If Durian is your thing, you''ll absolutely adore their freshly made Durian ($8) swiss roll that is mixed with white cream. For a refreshing and fruity alternative, try the Mango ($8) flavour. Fun fact: Each roll can be cut into at least 12 slicesβ€” affordable and great parties or gatherings!

Another winner. This place is impressing me. A notch above pasta available at this price point. Basically like dry laksa due to the hae bee hiam. Prawns were fat and fresh. When this plate arrived it actually seemed cooked by restaurant chefs although I was sitting at the non-aircon area.

Soft and fragrant wrap with white coconut mixed with sesame seed. Never tried this version before but I kinda do prefer this over the traditional palm sugar type. Tastes cleaner and lighter.

Still my favoritest favourite ondeh ondeh!Everytime I eat it, fall in love like its the first time and crave for more. Soft, chewy sweet potato skin with an exploding goodness of oozy Gula Melaka that isn't too sweet and what makes it different is the inclusion of sesame for more fragrance, enhancing its flavour.

This newly Halal-certified restaurant dishes out a wide assortment of cuisines at pocket-friendly prices. Located across Popeye's at Punggol Promenade Riverside Walk, Ah Dong Teh House may sound like a Hong Kong Cha Chaan Teng, but the extensive menu proves otherwise. Alongside typical cha chaan teng eats like Chicken Luncheon Meat Noodle ($7.90) and Shredded Chicken Porridge ($7.50), you'll find locally inspired dishes like Ah Dong Curry Chicken ($9.90) and XO Seafood Fried Rice ($15.90). Gather your family for a weekend brunch and make sure you don't skip the popular XO Carrot Cake ($7.90), chunky cubes of carrot cake fried with chicken luncheon meat and generously topped with chicken floss.

Their salted egg dish has a marked improvement! Its lovely now especially the stir fried one! Reasonable pricing! Tastes great! The regular salted egg yolk pasta is nice as well but the stir fried one πŸ–’πŸ–’πŸ–’ try their fish&chips and seafood aglio olio too l! For more pictures head to @justjiak on instagram

All you can eat toppoki at $18.80 per pax? Yes please! Unlike the frozen ones I buy at the supermarket, these toppoki, while obviously defrosted, were very soft and chewy, and there were several varieties to try, including an interesting sweet potato toppoki. Concept-wise, it is similar to how restaurants in Seoul's Tteokbokki Town do it - cook a whole pan of ingredients till bubbling and the sauce thickens, and then dig in. The bonus is that we get to concoct our own toppoki sauce, as well as pick our own ingredients from a variety that includes luncheon meat, cocktail sausages, fish cakes and greens. It's very very filling, so bring one heck of an appetite.

All-you-can-eat toppoki at $18.80 per person? Yes please! Bring an appetite, for there is a lot of starch to sample at this newly opened Korean joint in Suntec City (it's near Giant). Concept-wise, Dookki is similar to the toppoki restaurants in Seoul's Tteokbokki Town β€” cook a whole pan of ingredients till bubbling and the sauce thickens, and then dig in. The bonus is that there are eight types of soft and chewy rice cakes to choose from (we love the sweet potato), you get to concoct your own toppoki sauce, as well as pick your own ingredients from a variety that includes luncheon meat, cocktail sausages, fish cakes and greens. Towards the end, hit the rice bar for a portion of rice, corn, kimchi, seaweed and sesame oil to stir into the remaining sauce for super delish kimchi fried rice. Pro tip: Leave your favourite top at home. The constantly bubbling pan equals splash galore.

Check out this scrumptious, unique-to-Singapore creation by "Murphy's", an established brand from England that's been frying up fish and chips since 1967. The large arrowteeth fish fillet (it's bigger than the toasted soft buns!) is coated in an English style batter which gives it a great crunchiness. Accompanying the fish between toasted soft buns are bacon, a fried egg, cheese, mayo and a sweet chilli sauce. An awesome combo to say the least. The burger comes with a side of chips (what the English name their fries) so it's really filling.
This "Murphy's" in Ang Mo Kio is the first in Singapore and it looks nothing like a greasy diner. On the contrary, it is a stylish cafe, complete with good coffee too.

Walking distance from Kovan MRT, Hatter Street has already won the hearts of many with their whimsical touch and delightful array of cakes, waffles and drinks. While they don't serve savoury food, this is just the spot to visit during tea time or after dinner (they're open till 10pm). If waffles are what you're after, go for the seasalt or pandan gula melaka Whoaffles ($8.90). A must-try dessert is their Smoked Sawdust Pudding ($5) -- a truly innovative dessert of whipped milk pudding and biscuit crumble with a plume of aromatic smoke trapped in a jar!
