You can get Thai snacks from @baankanomthai.sg in golden mile supermarket. I got kanom krok in both the pandan and sweet potato flavours, kanom tokyo and their coconut pancakes. The kanom krok was a bit soggy probably due to it being kept immediately when still hot but it was still fragrant and had a chewy texture. I preferred the pandan flavour because it was a lot more fragrant than the sweet potato one. The coconut pancakes were yummy too, I liked both black glutinous rice and sweet corn flavours. The kanom tokyo wasn't really to my liking, the pancakes were too sweet and too thick for me πŸ˜… You can pre-order so you don't have to queue for long and it guarantees you your snacks.

I got fried sweet potato balls and fried banana from the neighbouring stall in Golden Mile Supermarket too. The Sweet Potato Balls were crispy and chewy, just a tad too sweet but still good!

Came back to @asaru.studio for the new desserts and I enjoyed our visit here again a lot 😌

Uiro, a traditional steamed cake with sweet bean, matcha and red bean layers. They were slightly dense with a chewy texture and each flavour was distinct while complementing the other flavours at the same time. This is said to be very rare even in Japan because it's so traditional, there isn't much information of where is originated from but we found out that you can probably get it in some of the traditional teahouses in Kyoto. We had this with matcha and the slightly bitter notes helped to balance the sweetness of the wagashi.

We got to choose between soba cha and coffee next, I had soba cha with my warabi mochi. The soba cha was so fragrant and it was the best soba cha I had in my life (I haven't had that much soba cha so I'm not a good gauge but I loved it). The warabi mochi was prepared fresh and served warm with fragrant kinako powder. The warabi mochi was a lot softer than what we usually have and it was delicious too!

Can't wait to be back for more in the future! ☺️

@martabak.sg opened a new stall in @funan.sg and they sell martabak in smaller portions so you don't have to stuff yourself with the entire thing πŸ˜… I had ordered from their online shop before this and enjoyed it so we decided to head to the shop to check it out!

We had the chocolate cheese, pandan cheese and the chicken martabak. The sweet martabak were very decadent and rich but nice in the smaller portions. The chicken martabak telur was crisp on top and packed with ingredients. They had some teething issues when we went during their opening weekend and we ended up having a one for one wait time together with our one for one martabak manis so hopefully they've been sorted out so I can go back to try their mains!

Got @keongsaikbakery's bakes on @pickupp.sg because I really want to try their new Miso Kouign Aman but had no time to head down. The combination of the sweet and savoury along with the buttery pastry made it unique and I enjoyed this because Kouign Aman in general can be overly sweet at times too.

Visited @matchaya.sg's new outlet at @sunteccity after not having been at one of their outlets in a while. Tried the Lavender Yuzu Hojicha and it was packed with many flavours, which required some getting used to at first but I ended up enjoying it

The goma choux was alright, I would have preferred a stronger goma flavour in the filling. The chocolate on top had a smooth texture too.

@sinpopobrand did a menu revamp earlier this month and switched up many items while keeping the old favourites. There are quite a few fusion items now and they can be very unique too! Here's what we had:

The Sng Muay Pop ($7) was very refreshing with fizzy lime and preserved plum ice cubes.

This was a meal that we really enjoyed and I would want to go back again to try the other new items! Thank you @sinpopobrand for all the food and Wendy for the warm hospitality! πŸ€—

The Gula Melaka Tiramisu ($13) is a dessert unique to Sinpopo, with gula melaka agar agar and egg white, topped with house-made sabayon. The gula melaka and coconut were very fragrant and it was a refreshing change from the usual tiramisu.

The Sinpopo Kopi Jelly ($12) has a caffeine kick with its strong espresso jelly and a slightly milder version of cappuccino jelly too. The espresso jelly goes well with the vanilla bean cream too.

The Baked Miso Cod Hor Fun ($23) had wok hei hor fun in a relatively lighter flavoured cod broth when compared to the crab bee hoon. The baked miso cod helped to elevate the flavours with its umami flavour and it had a melt in your mouth texture as well 😌
