Amazing dim sum buffet, wide selection to choose from. The wasabi prawns, garlic steamed prawns and char siew bao were delicious. Worth the price although it’s on the steep side. Ate till super full.
Recommend to end with desserts. Posting the desserts picture because it looks pretty.
4.5⭐ Saw Cherry Garden promotion under weekly HSBC wow where there's $50 off for minimum $100 spend. I make reservation for dinner as weekend lunch is dim sum buffet and this promotion is not applicable for dim sum buffet.
The Amuse Bouche is fried mushroom. I ordered 4 dishes which are the signature dishes, all are outstanding specially the pan fried beef cube. The beef is so tender that it's as if I'm eating pork or chicken. Both of us agrees that this dish is even better than a lot of western steaks we had. The small portion is just right for 2 pax but the fried rice can feed 4 pax.

The afternoon tea at MO Bar in Mandarin Oriental changes seasonally, and each season is inspired by a different theme. This time, in celebration of MO BAR’s 1st anniversary, MO Bar has launched a new Black and Gold afternoon tea, inspiration taken from the bar’s contemporary interior. Coming here is like slowly opening up a coveted gift; the excitement and anticipation of what’s coming up next. First we were introduced to a golden tin teemed with jewels of coffee spheres reminiscent of caviar, made using a molecular gastronomy technique, balanced by a layer of the velvety pear puree underneath. Followed by some Taraba Crab Vol Au Vent and Smoked Hamachi on Seaweed Crackers and Yuzu.
•
Next will be their two-tier tray that’s not only for the tastebuds, but also for the aesthetic senses of course, with a food selection in hues of black and gold. Savory nibbles come first always, from Boston Lobster Roll, Wagyu Pastrami with Japanese Pickle, and Ebi Shrimp with Sriracha Aioli. The bottom tier is made up of a fantastic selection of desserts, including Dulcey Puffed Rice with Chocolate Caramelized Banana Sphere, Citrus Confit with Yuzu Cream, Black Sesame Sponge with Coconut Ganache and Chocolate Pâte Sablée with Dark Chocolate Mousse. They are found to have an interesting combination of textures, with just the right amount of sweetness. Freshly baked Vanilla and Black Sesame Scones are next, tease those beauties open and spread them with a triple ensembles of clotted cream and delicate-tasting jams.
•
This Black and Gold Afternoon Tea is priced at $48 per person or $88 for two, inclusive of one pot of coffee or TWG tea; $65 per person, inclusive of one cocktail or mocktail; or $68 per person, includes one glass of “R” de Ruinart Champagne. Only available til end of October!
Unique to Cherry Garden is the julienned Rosella fruit and spring onion sauce to enliven the flavour of the Yu Sheng. It might be a good idea to leave out the crab meat during the tossing as those delicate meat pieces will be inundated by the sauces and other ingredients.

We checked it the revamped MO Bar recently, and here’s the Mother of dragon drink, inspired by Vietnam’s Halong Bay! Other than the bold cocktails, there are some good bar bites on the menu like this Japanese Somen Noodles which we wouldn’t mind having for supper now.
If you are dining in, you will witness the sea creatures and greens swimming in a large pot of superior broth and have the fun of ladling the ingredients out of the big pot. It is available for takeaway as well but it will be presented in a daintier fashion.

The Crackling Pork was well down, crispy on the outside, tender in the middle and fats do melt.
The black Chashu was better than expected. I personally do not like Chashu, they are sometimes dry and strange lol. But this was good, it was pretty tender and sweet.
I actually wouldn't recommend this, the skin of the wrap was way too thick and full of flour. I can taste the flour. Very disappointing.
But they did cook the duck separately as we ordered a whole duck and that was super tender.
If you don't get anything here, you Must order this! The fragrance of the rice hit us when it arrives. It has very good wok hey, beautifully seasoned, everything fried rice should be.
Texture and Consistency of standard shark fin soup but without the killing of sharks.
Light Lobster taste within. Worth a try. Warm soups always makes me happy!
The meat was pretty light and not too rich, just enough to keep conversations going throughout the night with a few glasses of red.

This unassuming fish dish was one of the highlights of the Peony set lunch! The cod fish was soft and tender inside, almost similar to the texture of crab, while the outside batter was so crisp and good, despite being in the black bean sauce. The fish was so good that I was a little shocked. The homemade spinach tofu was also soft and went well. There were also capsicums inside to add some texture and sweetness. A memorable dish!
Cherry Garden is known for their dimsum and rightly so! Their dimsum was really skilfully made and also with a pop of creativity. There was the har gow (prawn dumpling) with black garlic inside, which tasted sweet and really bumped it up a notch. The siewmai with baby abalone on top was also enjoyable.
However, my favourite dimsum was actually the one in the foreground- truffle shui jing bao! It had mushrooms, carrots, green beans and other ingredients and the truffle wasn’t too overpowering and highlighted the mushrooms particularly well. Most of all, I really enjoyed the sticky skin that was thin but still held together really well. The skin of the other dimsum also really had a great texture.
Before coming here, I was quite sceptical about how good dimsum could be - I love all dimsum and it is perfect to me, but this one was truly different. It was made with such attention to detail and the additional special ingredients really added to the taste instead of overpowering it. Really recommend coming here for their dimsum! They have a dimsum brunch on the weekends that the waiter recommended, so I’ll probably check it out next time.
