Enjoyed this plate of Grilled Pork Chop from Eleven Strands, an inquisitive cafe situated along Yio Chu Kang road. A generous piece of pork chop with reasonable thickness grilled to perfection. A little overcooked on the edges but moist and tender in the middle. The mash purée was smooth and creamy while the purple slaw gave the dish a refreshing note and crunch. Deals made better with Burpple Beyond 1-1.

Aglio Olio - ridiculously expensive pasta which was a complete waste of calories. big pieces of garlic in the dish but zero garlic taste. Bacon is like rubber. added prawns but we got frozen cut up pieces of shrimp that is so dry and hard. Not a hint of spiciness in the dish.

Lambshank - dish was okay, lamb was soft. would prefer if they didnt use tomato based sauce.

Fried chicken wings - Not sure if they made it but it taste like frozen crispy chicken wing from supermarket.

Mains were only from 12pm onwards - we got the braised beef cheeks and short ribs pasta! Both dishes were pretty good, and with generous portions. The braised beef was slightly salty and gamey on its own, but goes well with the mashed potatoes (which was smooth and buttery) and sautéed mushrooms! The short ribs pasta did not disappoint either - the short ribs were tender and deboned (👍🏻), along with the sauce which was generous and tasted of wine..? Will be back!

My oh my. What a stunner.

Putting aside the basically faultless short ribs, the oily reduction was packed with oomph and coated the pasta so well. The must-try dish here, and doesnt taste too greasy despite the glimmer.

Take note only the tagliatelle is made in house.

The texture was on point. Tender and full of flavour, if the crust was a little more significant it would have been perfect. Definitely a good choice if youre not getting pasta, and the sauce was impressive too, tho i didnt feel it was necessary. Apples were average but the umami cabbage and buttery mash were both good complements.

Decent, the bacon got some bite to it. Abit too saucy, more like a reduction than a usual aglio Olio due to the colour and the extra pasta water. Taste wise is passable, but for south union park standards there are definitely better things to try
