From the Burpple community

Flavours by saute offers a wide range of vegetarian dishes with vegan options. We tried their baked pasta this time and we were quite glad with the generous amount of cheese and ingredients. However, we were quite surprised that spaghetti was used instead of traditional penne/macaroni, which made it quite difficult to eat. The consistency was too watery as well, perhaps the dish needs to be baked for a longer period of time. At $16.90, this is a pretty standard price for a restaurant and the plus point is that there's no service charge or gst :)

Since Flavours was a vegetarian restaurant, we thought it would be very interesting to try what baked pasta would taste like here! We were surprised to find that it tasted no different from normal baked pasta, with a whopping amount of cheese in a piping hot bowl! The portion was rather generous and there were quite a few big pieces of lion mane mushrooms, which were arguably the highlight of the dish!

However, we were very surprised to find that the restaurant used spaghetti in baked pasta; it may have been better to use penne since it was really challenging to eat the spaghetti amidst all that cheese. Also, the "laksa" in the menu actually refers to laksa leaves, and you can taste and smell the presence of shredded laksa leaves in the dish. However, it might have been better to add some drilled chillis so as to give the dish the orange hue and tinge of spiciness that we are more used to when we think of "laksa".

For $16++, it is a pretty average price for baked rice at a restaurant. However, with Burpple Beyond, you can enjoy a one-for-one promotion and the dish becomes a great steal! Note that Flavours can be quite full on weekends so do make a reservation in advance if you are planning to pop by on a weekend!

Egg crispy

Felt this was better the the orh luak.

Felt very greased out eating both.

Next time will just order either the orh luak or the carrot cake.

Have been patronising saute since they were at bugis cube.

The standard not as good as last time thou. Buy this is still the go-to dish at saute for my wife.

The chilli taste is good.

Must have dish when u eat at saute

Ordered the bak kut teh dish - Halfway thru my meal, I noticed a small cockroach or weird insect in my dish. The staff only voided this dish from the bill, out of a total of 7 dishes my friends and I ordered. When my friends saw what happened, the mood was ruined and they felt uncomfortable continue eating their meals. Staffs failed to handle the situation well, very very disappointed. Will never return to this restaurant again.

Satay which were made from Lion Mane mushrooms, and it was surprisingly good! Mushrooms were well-seasoned and did not really taste like mushrooms. In fact, I thought the mushrooms had a sufficiently firm texture that resembled meat (and traditional satay).

Peanut sauce was great, although you may want to note that it was on the sweeter side rather than the spicier side.

This dish is considered as an appetizer, and not a main course, and it is hence not applicable for a Burpple Beyond promotion.
