Chicken rice here is in a bowl. I do not know why. I've been aiming this heritage brand for some time. After tasting, I'd say it's overall decent, but not best in class. Credit to them for self-service condiments, which include ginger and garlic.

2 x Platter of fatty Char Siew / Red Roast Barbecued Pork Loin, crisp Sio Bak / Roast Crackling Pork Belly, succulent Soy Sauce Chicken, and bouncy tossed Egg Noodles.
Indulge in the delicious roast meats and signature soy sauce chicken here. Shiok.

Super disappointed with the texture noodles, it was so doughy! This is my 3rd time having it and I would said the texture of noodles is inconsistent.

On the other hand, the proteins are quite decent. Maybe I would order rice instead of noodles next time.

The soya sauce chicken is succulent and flavorful. But I personally preferred their roast pork and char siew. The roast pork has a crispy skin and is appropriately fatty that melts in the mouth. The char siew was soft and fragrant. Their chopped ginger was good, it’s very different from others. It has got the ginger fragrant and yet there’s another added taste to it which I couldn’t figure it out. (S$7.40).

Soy sauce chicken has garnered some reputation of late. After being bookmarked by me for almost a year, I finally tried Hai Kee’s version. First the rice: aromatic and has a good nite and distinct chicken stock flavour. The soy sauce chicken: on the drier side of moist. The chilli: one of the best I’ve eaten. Unforgivingly intense and when added to the rice and chicken, it’s greater than the sum of all parts.

The Chicken have fully infused by the Essence of the Sauce that making it so Flavourful & Juicy.
Last but not least the dip ~ Chopped ginger was something to shout out for, it contain a tad of FUSION flavour in it.
