This unassuming stall offers a range of zi char dishes, alongside a traditional fish soup. You have a choice of adding XO (extra old) brandy or not, the default is without alcohol.

If you opt for the non-alcoholic version, the broth remains decently rich, with primary notes of the white pepper, black pepper, ginger, and evaporated milk, being milky sweet savoury peppery spice in taste.

The long silky smooth rice vermicelli noodles carry mild grainy sweet notes, while the crunchy chye sim / chinese flowering cabbage lends vegetal sweet flavour.

The medium fillets of boneless toman / snakehead fish are chunky and soft, with meaty sweet salty savoury flavour. I like to add chopped red chili for a spicy kick.

Warm bowl of noodles on a rainy rainy afternoon 👌🏼💯 Service isn’t great and a little slow though.

I’m not usually a fan of milk fish soups, but I wanted to drink up all of this fish soup! I’m not sure why it’s so good – is it the XO? Or the slices of ginger? Do they boil the fish bones in it for a long time? It’s so tasty!

The other highlight is the fish. The fish here are not fish slices. They’re thick hefty meaty chunks of fish, and there’s lots of them, making it a very value-for-money bowl.

The sauce is tasty but lacks a bit of wok hey. There’s pieces of meat, fish slices and prawn!

My go to place for XO fish head beehoon! I like it that the soup is milky, slightly creamy and contains a tinge of sweetness from the XO. Flavorful yet light on the palate.

The wok hei taste was there, the fish slices was fresh.

Overall quite satisfying

This coffee shop have quite a handful of awesome food.

This zhi char was quite good.

The chilli they provided to go with this was sweet and spicy.

Certainly will try this again.

We were visiting a friend nearby and wanted to have dinner nearby first. There were quite alot of people having their tze char dishes which looked and smelled awesome! However, I had a cough and we decided to have the xo fish soup($6)! Did not regret at all!! There were so many pieces of fish as compared to many other xo fish beehoon places! The broth was hot, milky, tasty with a hint of sweetness! I’ll be back to taste the rest of the dishes one day! They did take abit of time to serve, but was worth it!

In fact, you most probably would gone to have a fish soup stall if you would like to have fish soup/noodles. However, this place caught me by surprise, and a good one in fact, as their XO Fish Meat Bee Hoon ($6) is absolutely amazing. The richness of the broth with a mild sweetness from the XO and hint of heat from the ginger slices makes it’s so drinkable while the huge chunks of fish meat is an absolute bang for your buck. If you are around the area, I will highly recommend you give this a try!

Most of the zhichar stalls are known for their stir-fried dishes and the last thing you would think of that will be good is fish head/fish meat bee hoon. In fact, you most probably would gone to have a fish soup stall if you would like to have fish soup/noodles. However, this place caught me by surprise, and a good one in fact, as their XO Fish Meat Bee Hoon ($6) is absolutely amazing. The richness of the broth with a mild sweetness from the XO and hint of heat from the ginger slices makes it’s so drinkable while the huge chunks of fish meat is an absolute bang for your buck. If you are around the area, I will highly recommend you give this a try!

During the historic summit meeting between President Trump and Chairman Kim, they had a working lunch session and one of the menu items happened to be two of our local zhi char dishes put into one. Clearly, the chef who thought of this had to be a genius to pair two supposedly separate items together. This got me all curious and off I went to order yangzhou fried rice with sweet and sour pork at one of our local zhi char stalls. True enough, magic happened and I wonder why nobody had thought of this sooner. Hearty in portion, savoury, tangy and sweet in flavour, these two supposedly standalone dishes came together as one, with peace and in harmony.

Opaque with a sweet, rich milkiness, this stall's soup boasts an aromatic heat from slices of ginger too. You can choose between having fish head or pieces of fish (top and bottom bowls respectively in above pic) to go with the thick beehoon. I always gone for the latter as it's easier to eat. Plus, with the hefty chunks of fish, it feels like I'm getting more bang for my buck.

Always been a sought after. Unlike its counterpart which is fry black with a thick sauce, this one offers the lighter note that yums.

Super love the eggplant and taste especially good when eat while it's hot!

Soup is tasty & filled with XO fragrant. But the fish has a fresh water smell which I m not a fan of that. 👍👍

强烈推荐,记得选白汤,服务Aunty说只有不新鲜的鱼肉才会用XO酱爆炒后给客人吃;

一端上来就是浓浓的汤味,飘香四溢,是黄酒的香味,汤色白中带黄,是黄酒的颜色;

没错,是一份加过地道黄酒的汤,而且不止加了一点点,这碗鱼汤太优秀了,鲜中微甜,再带出白胡椒粉的辣味和黄酒的香浓,喝到停不下来;

相比鱼汤,鱼肉也是给的毫不吝啬,6大块厚实的鱼肉,结实新鲜(服务员说是鲈鱼肉,觉得不像),刚吃时会感觉被鱼汤盖过风头,口味淡,需要蘸辣椒酱吃,米粉的味道就更淡了;

但是新加坡人是不会给你加太多盐巴的,那就失了靓汤的味道,越吃越感受到好味道,咸淡适口;

这么一大碗才6新币,可谓业界良心。

在新加坡人使用较多的App“Burpple”上找到的这家店,虽然只有少少的四条评价,但一看就知道是“对的人”,费劲儿到达这家店,不虚此行。

食阁旁来吃除了居民后,还有长相像“大哥”的男人们,于是给香港街龙记又增加了一些江湖气息;

旁边连着是一家点心店,点的客人很多,感觉同样是一间可以来试试的店。

One of my favourite items to order at zichar is the Marmite Chicken and the ones from Hong Kong Street family restaurants totally hits all the right notes. With a tinge of the curry leaves aroma, each bite of the marmite chicken is a salty savoury explosion that is such a characteristic of a zichar dish.

My mum and aunts are loyal customers of the XO Fish Head Bee Hoon soup of this place and now I'm a fan myself too 😍
Very tasty milky broth that is clean yet robust in flavors. Portions are huge as even the smallest bowl can feed two pax! Opt for the chunky fish slices like me if you prefer more meat
