Sun Moon Lake Black Tea ($3.50), cold, less sugar, no ice. The tea is fragrant and light, different from the black milk tea. If you don't like astringent or siap tea, this is the tea to order, it's really light but still fragrant.

Not sure if it was cold and without ice which meant they had to cold brew it, we waited at least 20 mins for our order. Similarly, for other orders, the average waiting time is about 10 mins. So, while the queue is long, I do think it is partly attributed to how long they take to fulfil the orders.

Personally find it strange that the plain tea with no topping is like $3.50 but the price more than doubles when toppings are added.

Will buy again when there are no queues.

If you needa break your diet, it better sure as hell be for Haritts’ 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙞 𝙋𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙤 𝘿𝙤𝙣𝙪𝙩𝙨 (~$2.90).

Tiny but packed full of flavour, I bit past the sugary and incredibly soft doughy layers to get to the intense pistachio filling. Unlike artificial flavouring, I’m glad to say Haritts’ take on pistachio was nutty and intense, nothing too sweet to ruin the already sugary donut.

Ig @goodfomood

Among the many flavour choices that called out to us, we chose the matcha and pistachio - both classic and common flavours. Not too sweet, which I appreciated. Pistachio tasted exactly like pistachio which is great because there are other ice cream parlours that tend to get carried away and try to create a more complex pistachio flavour when no one asked for it. Matcha was sweeter than the pistachio, quite powdery and was unfortunately forgettable.

Well known for its croissants, Brotherbird also serves a dessert menu at Stateland Cafe! We tried the mochi doughnuts with soft serve ($14). The doughnuts were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, with piping hot earl grey syrup spilling out from inside. The slightly-sweet tea flavour added dimension to the savoury doughnuts! The speculoos soft serve was a little icy and a tad too sweet, tasting more like regular vanilla than caramelised cookies. I’d deem this a one and done - I’ll be sticking to their croissants the next time!

This is inspired by a milkshake the founders regularly had as children.

With a soft yellow moist roll cake, the filling of creamy mashed avocadoes infused with sticky gula melaka / palm sugar results in a bold vegetal earthy floral sweet flavour. Feels luxurious yet comforting.

Find this newly opened patisserie-cafe along Amoy Street for intricate and delicate cakes. Burppler Fiona Ting (who is a pastry chef) describes the Orh Nee Slice ($8), "although this slice of cake carried a fluffy light texture; a distinctive difference from the usual sticky heavy dessert, it didn’t disappoint. Light vanilla sponge with fragrant Pandan Yam paste, chunks of yam, mousse-like textured coconut chantilly and crunchy whites chocolate pearls. I’ll actually come back just for the cake. Coffee was great too!" Burppler Foodie Goh also recommends the Yuzu Madeleines ($2.50 for 2pcs).

Chocolate + mint cream. I usually like the mint+chocolate combination, but the mint cream wasn't amazing. Would have liked the chocolate without the mint cream

Having had some of the best doughnuts in New York, the couple set out to recreate something similar for Singaporeans.

They also wanted to serve up sandwiches on the menu to provide convenient and hearty lunch options for busy workers in the CBD.

Some of their signature items include the Peanut Butter & Jelly Doughnut ($4.50) containing runchy peanuts folded into a peanut butter glaze, topped with house made raspberry jam; and White Chocolate & Coconut Doughnut with Hazelnuts ($4.50) of toasted coconut flakes and hazelnuts folded into a white chocolate glaze, reminiscent of a Raffaello.

Loved it. Soft and fluffy, not too sweet.

The best thing to get at Wimbly Lu is the waffles. The staff kindly let us pick both sauces, chocolate and maple syrup! You get the best of both worlds~

The carribean rum & pineapple had a distinct pineapple flavour and a mellow sweetness; the alcoholic taste was not too strong. We both preferred this because of our personal preference for rum!

The smokiness shone through for the sakura smoke & artichoke gelato, with the bits of pear folded in providing some textural variation. I haven’t tried artichoke (the vegetable) before, but I found this flavour rather interesting and pleasant tasting.

Both gelatos were smooth and light as usual, nothing too heavy on the palate! The bread from sing hon loong was a National Day special, and was a good, fluffy bread. I didn’t think it paired well with the flavours we chose though!

From their insta, and from my own memory, I ordered valrhona dulcey and sea salt but the paper packaging said caramelia+ sea salt

What's weird is that the Instagram page didn't even have caramel that day

Nonetheless, the caramel inside wasn't v strong, and im starting to understand why people are fascinated w BUNDT. The brownies have a uniquely soft texture, somewhat like the cross of cake, fudge, and foam. Very rich too and the taste isn't cloying, tho it requires some sort of liquid to wash down after the 3rd bite.

Rather expensive for such a small block, tho filling nonetheless.

Truly Konichiwa Hojicha now that @dear.nesuto is selling it in slices! I had to think long and hard about getting it previously because they only sold the whole cakes. I got this together with the Yuzu Raspberry cake and both were really yummy. The Yuzu Raspberry was sweet with both the Yuzu Raspberry flavours providing a nice balance. I really liked the Konichiwa Hojicha with the robust nutty flavours in the cream and the sponge. They only accept online orders now so do remember to order online before heading down! 🤗
