There wasn't any description of what it was but the server gave me a good idea and I decided to order it. When it arrived the first thing I did was to knock on the white chocolate shell and the inside was beautiful. Great thing was it tasted just as great. There's a thin coconut gel on top of the sweet mousse. Eaten together the combination tasted like coconut whip cream. Overall it's yummy delicious.

Deep-fried boneless mid-joint stuffed with spicy mackerel fish paste (aka otak) paired with @DilmahSG's Elegant Earl Grey Iced Tea ($7/glass, $18/litre).

Ceylon tea delicately scented with a fresh burst of bergamot. A very refreshing iced tea that goes well with the spicy otak-stuffed wings.

First stop of the Dilmah Tea Trail and there's an abundance of colonial charm at 1920's style restaurant and bar Meyer House, a most appropriate setting for tea tasting if you ask me. Starting off the day right with Homer's Breakfast -- essentially an English Breakfast -- paired with English Breakfast iced tea. Deliciously refreshing, as were the other tea and food pairings we had the opportunity to sample.

One of my favourite teas during the Dilmah Tea Trail, the iced Arabian Mint Tea with Honey was an excellent palate cleanser with bright and cool minty notes, perfectly complementing the moist and chocolatey brownie praline with banana mousse that I took quite a liking to as well.

More than a little inconvenient to get to for a westie like me, Meyer House located in the Civil Service Club at Changi is worth a trip down just for their view and comforting spread. Overlooking the Changi beach, you too, can dine al fresco with their menu that features both western and asian delights. Great for a quiet, cosy brunch affair with friends or family.

Having a taste of Asia with their Indonesian Beef ‘Rendang’ ($18), the slow cooked beef cheeks, best with a spoonful of blue tea flower rice, was tender and nicely balance with the taste of mixed spices and herbs. The usual accompaniment, crispy discs of papadum, also added a fun texture to the dish. On the side, we had Devil’s Wings ($10) which gave a good spicy kick with the mackerel fish paste (otah) stuffing.

Paired with an elegant cup of Earl Grey, the strong and robust flavours of the meats went surprisingly well with the floral notes of the tea. With a tinge of citrus from the orange wedge, the tea was able to slightly cleanse the palate, cut the richness and really enhance the flavours.

Thank you Burpple for the invite as well as Dilmah and Foodcult PR for the hospitality!

Had such an ace Saturday the recent weekend on the Burpple x Dilmah Tea Trail, which kicked off with brunch at the far-flung but very gorgeous Meyer House!

The English Breakfast tea was the very first one we got to sample – iced and spiked with a little slice of lemon, this was a pleasantly refreshing start to the crazy tea pairing sesh we were embarking on!
