This was good old comfort food! The chili ban mian just made my day!! It had super smooth and chewy handmade noodles, well-seasoned minced meat, stewed mushroom, soft boiled egg, veg and lard. The sauce and soft boiled egg together formed a silky coating over all the ingredients. Because of the black sauce it reminded me of the black thick noodles we used to eat in KL every year

Yes it looked very bland. But perfect for nursing a sore throat. Kuay teow was smooth but the star was of cos the fish dumplings. So chewy and Q. Yummy.

This place was packed during lunch time. Long queue.

This was pretty good. Gravy was spicy and vinegary.

Wok fire quick stir-fried noodles, classic style with sliced chinese sausage, cockles, bean sprouts and few green vegetables.

$4.40 for this yummy plate of mixed rice. Located basement of Gateway East. Chosen curry potato, eggplant minced pork and long bean. Wide variety to choose.

Very surprised to see a local eatery amongst the posh ang moh restaurants at Duo Galleria. Right outside Bugis station exit E. Was going to just walk past when I saw a pic of their dry ban mian. Just nice for my pre-dinner snack. The gravy was nicely seasoned and not bland at all. Noodles were thick and chewy. Got pork lard inside, which almost made me forgive them for not having chili. Almost. Crispy ikan bilis, minced meat, poached egg and cabbage rounded up this delicious bowl.

New stall alert 🚨!

Chinese - Thai mixed rice stall

In the same coffee shop that houses fatty thai wanton noodles is this newly set up mixed rice stall run by a thai lady who speaks good Chinese and dialect too 😊.

They were previously at the basement of golden mile but have since started operations here 3 days ago .

What caught my eye initially was the pineapple rice that was displayed as one of the dishes amongst the mixed rice varieties and the ladies finger with a spicy looking Hae bee . All the dishes looked so well presented and they were not greasy.

I had the pineapple rice with the stir fried luffa with egg and dried shrimps and the stir fried cabbage with julienned carrots. The pineapple rice was so fluffy and light and had huge chunks of fresh pineapples while the luffa in the egg gravy was so well made and generously seasoned with dried shrimps . Everything on my plate was only 2.50 - how affordable is that ?

I initially realised that I had limited cash in my wallet and only a bag of coins that I didn’t know amounted to how much and the lady boss was so kind - she said it doesn’t matter - if not enough , pay another day. Such a lovely and kind soul.

Apart from the mixed rice dishes , the stall ( which will have its sign board up in 2 to 3 days ) will also have the usual thai specialities like pad thai , fried noodles and dishes that they will cook upon your order .

The food is so homecooked and made with so much care and love - I will be coming back for more .

Aromatic fish soup with generous thick, firm fish slices. The fried egg found in the soup has a really nice texture and is sibeh delicious! Most importantly, $5.50 only leh!

Located in a coffee shop, but serve fantastic quality western food. Their best dish was their chicken chop. Its crisps on the outside, yet tender and juciy on the inside

The broth was done well, surpassed my expectations coming from a mere stall. Portion size was reasonable. Overall, a tasty meal 😋
