Coffee was more on the bitter side but the place is a nice spot to hangout and chill during the afternoon!

Ice cream and freshly baked hot lava cookie is just a wonderful post-dinner dessert / sweet treat. The delightful warm cookie with rich and oozing lava ganache pairs perfectly with the dairy-free and oat-based dirty matcha ice cream. I like their matcha ice cream which leans more bitter than sweet. The only downside is they do not allow flavour tasting.

thick mochi within the waffles and good variety of ice-cream to choose from

Top end French eatery at $50 - $100 per person level (less wine by glass and desserts). Comparable to highest end Restaurant in Shanghai and Beijing (where I live and work) food wise. Back to visit a close friend living nearby in rainy November. Le Petit Paris is a very unique and hidden gem in a quiet neighborhood. Ordered Chef’s Special (Appertizer) Fresh Burrata With Cherry Tomato Salad ($34) - Fresh Burrata (300g) with cherry tomato salad to share. They have a smaller portion. Served on a bed of freshly cherry tomato, french shallots and basil oil. The freshest of ingredients drizzled with a refreshing dressing that lingers in your palate. I ordered Salmon and wild mushrooms ($36 ) in a mushroom sauce (in photo). The Salmon was cooked to perfection (outer skin crust, tender soft meat with a tinge of fresh (sweet rawness) salmon in the centre. 9.5 out of 10 (could also taste a little of the Chef’s melancholy in the sauce). Value for money and will return for more before I head back to wintry Beijing.

For all the sweet-toothed residents of Bedok, hay, gelato is a must-visit! Our family loves stopping by for a cup of ice cream or, more often than not, a waffle with double scoops to share. The innovative and experimental nature of this gelateria means you can always expect new flavors to try. If you’re new, don’t miss out on the longstanding flavor of preserved orange peel—it offers a unique twist that’s simply delightful!

Orh Nee Mochi Pancake from @mrbeansg taste so good many Orh Nee Mochi inside 😋😋.

From Marie’s Lapis
We recently had the pleasure of trying the new dish, Itek Sio, at a popular café on the east side of Singapore.
This slow-cooked leg of duck is an absolute delight, featuring a harmonious blend of tamarind mixture, shallots, coriander powder, and dark soy sauce.
The flavour are perfectly balanced and seep into every tender bite of the duck.
Accompanying this succulent main is blue pea rice that not only adds a visually stunning element to the plate but also complements the dish with its subtle fragrance.
Only $20 for now.

Back at @kookscreamery for their desserts and noticed that they now have lava waffles! Tried it but felt like we should still stick with their lava cookie and gelato 😂

The Matcha Lava Waffles we ordered were unfortunately too soft? There was not crisp to the waffle and it seemed cold. The matcha cream had some matcha flavour and was pretty sweet. We got the Dirty Matcha with the waffles, and it was pretty good. You get a slight earthy flavour with a hint of coffee flavour. Wished that it was less sweet though!

We also got another Chocolate Lava Cookie, which was as good as always. Dark rich chocolate ganache with soft buttery cookie; this is hard to go wrong. With the cookie we got a Pistachio and Black Sesame gelato. The Pistachio was fine with its creamy nuttiness, but the black sesame SLAPPED SO HARD. The black sesame flavour was so strong yet so aromatic and it had the right amount of sweetness and earthiness. So lovely I wished I ordered another scoop!

The total bill was about $33, which was kind of pricey. Nonetheless, I will still see myself back to try more of their gelato with lava cookie!
