Not v Vietnam but strong coffee aroma and pudding texture was fine. Quite sweet

Overall quite decent

Terribly sorry for the picture

Outside the tempered dark choc is very crunchy, thin and bitter. The chocolate ice cream was sweet tho and not dark enough

Overall it's decent

The matcha and choc combines very well and you can tell it's quality. For the price you obviously don't expect top tier quality, it's very decent for the price alr

For those whom have been following the happenings in the local F&B scene for a while, cotelato. is probably a name that one would find familiar — not an absolutely new opening here, though still one that had popped up in recent times, cotelato. is a concept by the same folks behind SPRUCE and takes up a corner of SPRUCE’s space in HillV2. Whilst cotelato. takes up the space of a separate shop unit from SPRUCE at HillV2 on the ground level, one thing worth noting about cotelato. is how there is an open arch connecting the two establishments — this also means that patrons are able to have a seat at either side to order items from both establishments, and that the service staff between the two are also shared. cotelato. is decked with a more laid-back interior setting; one that seemingly feels more like a living room with a cosy low table set-up especially in the area closer to the entrance, though dining tables and chairs of proper height can still be found within the the left side of the shop unit. With its primary focus being on being a dessert bar, much of cotelato.’s offerings circle around artisanal desserts — the menu at cotelato. sees items such as waffle stacks, carousels (i.e. set of assorted cakes), “Break the Blossom”, Lava Cakes and more being listed. One may have noted that the signature of cotelato. would be the “Surprise Package” — a collection of cakes presented in the aesthetic of crafted bags, though it is noted that the “Surprise Package” was no longer available during our visit made to cotelato.. Beverages at cotelato. includes tea and specialty coffee for those whom are looking for something to pair their dessert with.

Browsing through the menu to go for one of the lighter dessert items which they have to offer considering how we have had quite a fair bit to eat for the entire day, one of the items which we found to be less heavy based on the illustrations and descriptions of the items in the hard copy menu would be The Golden Rosa. The Golden Rosa is being described as an item which comprises of a “golden rose crepe embedded with caramel sauce, hazelnut praline paste, and French Chantilly cream” on the menu — the menu also mentions about a “slow unveil over the cloud”, though we did not quite understood the definition of that especially since our item was just served to the table as-is without any theatrics. Some might call it cheesy, though it is worth noting how The Golden Rosa does indeed come with an aesthetic that suggest that the crepes were indeed “golden roses” based on the plating — there is chocolate sauce drawings depicting the stem, while there are “leaves” placed to complete the look. We weren’t expecting a lot out of The Golden Rosa given how crepes aren’t exactly the easiest item to nail especially when it comes to establishments like this — that being said, the crepes were soft with a lightly eggy note with a layered texture considering how it was folded to achieve that “rose” aesthetic. The crepes were being spread with a hazelnut praline that provided a chocolate-y and nutty note with a soft crunch akin to wafers for an added texture. We were told to drizzle the accompanying caramel sauce bit by bit in order not to overly sweeten the dessert — this advise proved to be helpful as the inherent sweetness of the hazelnut praline paste would have been masked off by the caramel if everything were to be poured in. Overall, a light dessert which we found to be pretty likeable.

Truth to be told, we had that impression that cotelato. was one of those places where the physical attribute of the desserts served were of utmost importance, with all else being ignored. This was mainly caused due to the excessive social media coverage of the more “gimmicky” items on their menu — from the “Surprise Package” to the lava cakes and the carousel-based items that is seemingly more like a zhng-ed up high tea set featuring an assortment of sliced-up cakes; we were pretty much dead set on not making a special trip to cotelato. for those items at the least. Having now been to cotelato. out of an occurrence by chance since we were in the area looking for dessert, we did feel that the desserts at cotelato. are rather decent overall. Apart from The Golden Rosa, we had also managed to give the Mystic White Chocolate from the “Break The Blossom” menu a try. Basically a cake in a chocolate shell, the Mystic White Chocolate features a hard white chocolate shell that needs to be cracked open to reveal a “Rosy Shortcake” within. There already was a bit of rose-infusion in the white chocolate shell to begin with; one could detect a light floral aroma that perfumes around the tastebuds when one goes for a piece of that white chocolate shell — the insides revealing a strawberry shortcake infused with flavours of lychee rose comprising of different elements and textures not described in the menu. The execution of the entire dessert item was decent — flavours veering a little bit towards the sweeter side but still worked well nonetheless. The desserts at cotelato. are priced slightly on the higher side, with the prices of the plated desserts ranging from $15++ to $19++ per item — they aren’t exactly fine dining restaurant quality, though one cannot deny the effort and time spent to put everything altogether; these are still rather intricate creations after all. A spot that is worth considering to have desserts if in the area.

Flesh is ok but the skin sucks, tastes really really cheap and messes up the overall texture

Organic red and brown rice, falafel of the day, red pepper, grilled pumpkin, Japanese cucumber, tofu, plum sesame sauce

Ahh I love toss and turn! It’s one of the better salad options around my area - I prefer it over the salad fork, poke theory, and other less well-known brands. The falafel was sooo good? Crunchy, well-spiced and flavourful 👌🏼 The tofu was p fresh, grilled pumpkin was sweet, cucumber and red pepper was refreshing and crunchy. Plum sesame sauce was tasty too! My mom’s mushrooms were juicy and earthy, was rly yummy. Portion is good too.

Seriously average, very cheap tasting, the almond bits are very fine so u mainly taste the caramel and only a very tiny crunch from the almonds

Absolutely lovely. It's a new item btw

The smooth choc cream was intense enough and there's a very prominent orange aroma accompanying it, they combine pretty well too. Good execution as always from chateraise

Very different, here the fresh cream hits you immediately followed by the very interesting strawberry paste? Nothing like what you're used to, not sure how they did it but since it's so different from the artificial flavours I'm inclined to believe this is made using real strawberries. You mainly perceive the fresh cream texture tho and a mild chewiness from the mochi

There's a pleasant sandiness that forms the majority of the texture, u don't get much cream which was fine by me. Otherwise it's a vibrant sweet and sour display, mochi wasn't very prominent but overall harmonious
