As for the beverages, the tea leaves are obtained from traditional tea wholesalers from Japan. Amongst the many teas, the 𝗬𝘂𝗸𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗮 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲 is a thick glass of freshly-whisked matcha layered with soy milk. Though slightly sweet by default, matcha lovers can explore a non-sugar version upon request.

Similarly, a scoop of matcha gelato can be paired with 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘆-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗶 𝗪𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘀. The waffles come crispy with a soft and chewy mochi inner texture, drizzled with golden syrup and topped with a sprinkle of fragrant toasted rice. Unlike the typical waffles made with butter and fresh milk, the ones here use cinnamon and oat milk, making the texture more airy and uniquely fragrant. Paired with level 3 matcha gelato, the most intense and bitter tasting of the matcha levels, the sweetness is better balanced out with every bite.

The 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶 𝗠𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗶 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼 features melt-in-your-mouth homemade kinako warabi mochi served with a scoop of either oatmilk or matcha level 1 gelato. The mochi, made out of roasted soybean flour, complements the creamy, robust and umami matcha taste, culminating in an earthy and distinctive flavour.

The gelato, which Hvala garnered popularity for, comes in 12 flavours, all vegan using soy milk instead of the usual fresh milk. The scoops can either be served in cups or handmade cones, which are crispy and vegan-friendly as well. Aside from the popular three types of matcha which vary in intensity, the 𝗚𝗼𝗺𝗮 is an equally rich gelato of black sesame taste with light roasted notes. Option to choose burger bun, brown rice patty or lettuce leaves. Love how healthy it is cos baked, it's nt fried or grilled. Brown rice patty wasn't what I expect but it's not bad, think there's tumeric added. Patty made from lots of various vegs, beans, peas, etc. Came with huge poriton of sweet potato fries which is not fried too👍🏻 & side salad, both with tangy, refreshing dressing. It's sth I would order again!
Good for low carb meal! The "cheese" sauce is made with cashew nut but rly has a cheesy taste, I think there's nutritional yeast added (can taste it). Rly like the sauce👍🏻 Generous portion of side salad with refreshing dressing!
This place focuses on whole food, very healthy! Very unique cos it use almond bits instead of rice. Homemade kimchi is so good, pairs well together with the creamy avocado on top. No wonder it's their signature item & I hear other tables ordering this as well, must try when there!🌟
DAIRY-FREE WAFFLES W OATMILK GELATO ($11.90)
i loveeee the waffle texture. chewy, sweet & fragrant on it’s own. oatmilk gelato was v mild in flavour so it let the waffles shine!
ICED MATCHA HOJICHA OATLY LATTE ($7.90)
hvala’s matcha/hojicha lattes always hit🍵🍵
it’s okay…found the cream too heavy, but i feel that this is a hvala cake thing
For drinks, we got the best of both worlds - Iced Matcha Goma Latte ($6.90++). Goma means sesame in Japanese, so you had a thick layer of black sesame at the bottom of our matcha latte. Being able to watch the tea master carefully brew our matcha definitely add to that sophisticated feelz and made us appreciate the tea as we slowly sip it. Although the sesame and matcha combination is something we would probably reconsider, it was a very aesthetic drink with different layers to it.

Do note that the prices in their kiosk are before GST. The matcha wasn't bitter. I dont find it too sweet. It was an ok drink so i find it abit pricey.
They have always maintained their standards in their matcha/hojicha dessert and drinks. Never fail to satisfy.
