The only one vegetarian stall at KopiTime food court in PLQ Mall, Xuan Miao specialise for their handmade mee hoon kueh.
Served in either soup or dry, their mee hoon kueh do has a very good texture.
The soup version come with separate bowl of it with lots of vegetables ingredients inside.
Opened by an ordained nun, it is like a respite here, it's quiet and the staff are warm & friendly. We had the dessert Sesame paste ($4.50) & Almond paste ($3.80) and brought our own weiqi board to play. The dessert was thick, creamy and grainy. I particularly love how rich the sesame paste was.
Plus, it fits our weiqi time with yinyang elements. Ps. Prices are nett.
We were impressed by the variety of dishes on the menu and all the dishes are affordable too! Took a long time before deciding on getting the minced pork porridge ($4). The porridge was really creamy and flavourful by itself, topped with a small portion of minced meat that's probably made of mushrooms and some peanuts and spring onions. They probably added quite a bit of sesame oil to the porridge but we're not complaining as we love the taste. The serving size is really huge as well, so it might be a good idea to share between two if you're a small eater. #reducefoodwaste
The place is a coffeeshop style eatery located a short walk from paya lebar mrt station along a stretch of vegetarian eateries/bakery/teahouse. Currently only allows dining in for up to 2pax. Will be back to try other items!
Have not come across better ban mian than Xuan Miao!
Noodles are that perfect QQ texture and retain their bite even as they sit in the soup. Medley of textures from the succulent mutton, to the springy fish tofu, juicy shiitake mushrooms and tofu puffs make this dish an absolute delight to eat.
Broth is comforting and light/non-greasy. An extremely satiating and nutritious meal for one hungry person!

The uncle at the counter was really humour. Food served pretty fast, but unfortunately the rice was overcooked and cold. The fake chicken wasn’t taste great also. $4.50
