Finished with frozen pomelo for that added zesty freshness, it is a refreshing appetiser which cleanses and opens up your palette before diving into the rest of the dishes.

The strong laksa fragrance filled the air as we were stirring this laksa pappardelle. Yet, as we started eating it, the taste was light and not gelat. And what I liked about this, and as with all other pastas here, is that the texture of the pasta were soft and springy, as they were all made in house.
🔸
And the flavours here is representative of OFC's DNA - to present local flavours executed with a contemporary twist. And we see it in this dish as the Southern Malay Laksa is creatively reinterpreted in Crab & Prawn Laksa Pappardelle. A familiar flavour profile with the quintessential spices, dried shrimps, and coconut milk found in most Laksa dishes; the homemade pasta dish is pepped up with prawns, kaffir lime, and curry leaves from OFC’s garden and topped off with crispy soft-shell crab tempura.

Open Farm Community is passionate in celebrating local producers and rediscovering ingredients readily available locally. They're thus committed to using only local ingredients in their cooking and creatively interpret indigenous produce that locals are familiar with.
🔸
The new locavore menu at OFC features exciting new mains including this Japanese inspired dish of Barramundi, which is procured from a marine fish farm located off the North-eastern coast of Pulau Ubin. To ensure freshness, the fish is delivered to OFC within six hours of harvest from the sea.
🔸
This barramundi is steamed in dashi butter, seasoned with a furikake made from local seaweed and Pulut Hitam, and complemented with pea shoots and blue pea flowers harvested from OFC’s own garden. It's very delicate, very light, very fresh.
🔸
This made me realize, to support local doesn't necessarily mean eating local food from local chefs. OFC's dedication to ingredients sourced locally is another way too.
